A proposed aspen management project for White River National Forest aims to treat up to 20,000 acres of aspen per decade through a mix of prescribed burning and timber harvesting. About 375,000 acres of aspen on the national forest would be eligible for treatment under the proposed project, all outside of designated wilderness areas.
