'Task complete' as Club Players Association disbands

A view of the CPA fixtures proposal
The Club Players Association has announced that it has dissolved as their aim of ‘Fixing the Fixtures’ is complete following the GAA’s decision to go with a split season model.
Founded in 2016 with Michael Briody as Chairman, the CPA’s main aim was to see club players nationwide given set, guaranteed and fair fixtures that were not likely to change at a whim due to the intercounty game.
They proposed many fixture solutions but withdrew from then GAA President John Horan's Fixtures TaskForce in 2019 when they claimed it was set-up to merely "ratify the status quo".
