July 07 : Producer Ashoke Pandit has announced that he will make a film based on the life of Asian Games gold medalist Pinki Pramanik. The filmmaker has already acquired the rights of to make the film. Announcing the film, Pandit touted it as the “most controversial story of a woman athlete, who was accused of being “a man” and implicated in rape charges.
Ashoke Pandit has directed TV series Tere Mere Sapne and co-produced the film The Accidental Prime Minister. The filmmaker took to Twitter to make the announcement. "A proud moment for #AshokePanditProductions This will be a tribute to all the athletes. #AshokePandit #PinkyPramanik," the tweet read. The yet-untitled film has been written by Priyanka Ghatak.
