It seems like not so long ago, craft beer drinkers thought nothing good could come out of a can. Oskar Blues helped change that notion and started a craft can revolution.
What's a crowler and why do you want one? A portmanteau of can and growler, it's a 32-ounce aluminum vessel that can be filled and sealed with a single compact machine behind the bar.
Archetype Brewing (265 Haywood Road) recently got a crowler machine, and head brewer Erin Jordan said she and her crew often pull random cans for quality control during the filling process.
"One by one, we'll train each of our beertenders in the execution of precise quality focused crowler filling so we can offer on-demand fills of any on-tap beer we don't already can, while also ensuring the longest shelf life and best preservation of our beers," she said.
