A REWARD has been offered for the recovery of historic items stolen in a burglary at Arundel Castle.
Insurers acting for the owners of the 11th-century castle are offing a "substantial reward" for the safe return of all or part of the collection of items that were stolen from the site during the heist on Friday, May 21.
Various items were stolen, including gold rosary beads carried by Mary, Queen of Scots at her execution in 1587, several coronation cups, and other gold and silver treasures.
Police said the rosary is of little intrinsic value as metal, "but as a piece of the Howard family history and the nation’s heritage it is irreplaceable".
