Western artist Kathryn Leitner grew up on her grandparents’ ranch in central Montana until she was 9. After her parents moved, she regularly visited the ranch until she was 14. Her family then left Montana because of her father’s work.
“Growing up on the ranch was a big part of my life, for sure,” Leitner said. “Initially, that was where my love of the ranch life came from and my understanding of it. You grow up with certain values and certain requirements of your character because of that background.”
