Rape alleged over 2019 incident
SEVIERVILLE â A Sharps Chapel man has been charged with rape over an alleged 2019 incident involving a minor in Sevier County.
Sixty-two-year-old Charles Stuart Cavanaugh was being held in the Sevier County Jail Wednesday in lieu of $100,000 bond.
Cavanaugh was charged through a sealed presentment, which does not offer additional details on the allegations.
Glades Road to be reduced to one lane after 8 a.m. Thursday

Glades Road will be reduced to one lane with traffic control in this area as crews perform work in the roadway. The work is expected to start at approximately 8 a.m. and is expected to be complete by the end of the day. The City urges motorists to exercise caution when traveling through the construction zone to protect the safety of the workers.
