KETCHIKAN (KDN) â The Ketchikan Emergency Operations Center charted two new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, according to an evening press release.
 "Both individuals were symptomatic," according to the EOC statement. "One case was determined to be a close contact to a known positive, and one case is under investigation as to the source. The contact investigations are ongoing."
 Of Ketchikan's cumulative 407 cases, eight were considered active in the community on Thursday.
The local test positivity rate was 1.17%, unchanged from Wednesday. Results were pending from 34 tests, down from 43 tests on Wednesday, according to the EOC. Tests conducted on or before Tuesday at the Berth 3 drive-up testing site had been processed by Thursday. Individuals who were tested during that time and had not been contacted by local health officials received a negative test result.
