PEORIA HEIGHTS, Ill. — A domestic situation eventually ended in the arrest of an individual Thursday morning, but not before an hour-long negotiation with police.
Peoria Heights Police were called to the 3000 block of Faber around 10:30 a.m. on a call that a suspect was barricaded in his basement who was armed and had been using numerous drugs.
42-year-old Matthew Dempsey was taken into custody after negotiations.
Dempsey was arrested on charges of domestic battery and aggravated assault. He also had two active felony warrants in Peoria and Woodford counties.
