Arkansas softball earns a Super Regional berth with Fayetteville Regional win over Stanford, 7-3. This is the program's second Regional win in program history. Arkansas, a national seed for the first time in program history, needed just one win to earn a berth to the Super Regional as the Hogs came out of the winner's bracket in the Fayetteville Regional. The Hogs got the scoring going early when Braxton Burnside sent the first pitch she saw out to centerfield for a two-run home run in the top of the first inning. The Cardinal added three of their own in the bottom of that frame. Arkansas started Autumn Storms in the circle who went for just 1.0 innings with two strikeouts before SEC Co-Pitcher of the Year Mary Haff came in. She threw six scoreless for the Hogs. In the top of the fourth, Arkansas tied the game on a Ryan Jackson RBI single to center that helped Cally Kildow come home on an error. Then, Keely Huffine reached on a fielder's choice, scoring Larissa Cesena to give Arkansas the 4-3 advantage in the top of the fourth. Linnie Malkin's fifth inning three-run home run made up for an earlier ball she hit out of the park that just missed the fair line. Arkansas took a 7-3 lead in the fifth.Arkansas last won a regional in 2018. The Super Regionals are slated for Thursday, May 27 to Saturday, May 29 or Friday, May 28 to Sunday, May 30 with the Women's College World Series Thursday, June 3 to Wednesday, June from Oklahoma City. The NCAA is allowing full capacity thanks to the NCAA’s announcement allowing host schools to determine capacity based on local and state guidelines.
