ARKANSAS (WHEC) — After being abandoned and left for dead, one dog is getting a second chance at life along with a new home at an Arkansas Sheriff's Office.
Lonoke County Sheriff John Staley says deputies found two dogs abandoned in a home alone for three weeks. One dog died and the other pup wasn't far behind.
"The vet was astonished that he hadn't died," said Staley.
Staley says the owners were arrested, charged with animal cruelty and they signed the dog over to the sheriff.

Since then, everyone at the sheriff's office has fallen in love with the dog and it was clear that he wasn't going to leave.
