After forced closure due to the eruption of the soufriere volcano which dumped substantial amounts of ash on the Argyle International Airport-AIA- that facility is scheduled to re-open tomorrow, April 24.
“ The public is asked to appreciate that cleaning will be ongoing, as ash persists in the atmosphere and is continuously redeposited on the compound,” a release from the airport stated.
It said the cargo terminal will return to normal operations from 8:00am today, Friday April 23, 2021.
With respect to airports in the Grenadines, the AIA release stated that: “JF Mitchell airport remains open under special conditions, due to the terminal building repair work in progress. The Canouan, Union Island and Mustique airports remain operational from 9:00am to 5:00pm”.
