April At The Marion
April is a great month for films at Ocala’s Marion Theatre! Tickets are $5 and can be purchased online at mariontheatre.org or at the theatre’s box office at 50 S. Magnolia Ave. Highlights for the month include:
Classics and Cocktails: “Citizen Kane.” This month guests can experience the 1941 Oscar Award-winning film “Citizen Kane” in Ocala’s historic Marion Theatre. The signature cocktail for the series is “The Rosebud” and is available at each showing.
Films to Celebrate Water Conservation Month: April at the Marion is generously sponsored by the City of Ocala Municipal Government Water Resources Department. Throughout the month guests can enjoy films that bring attention to Water Conservation Month and highlight Florida’s natural resources. On April 1 and 10 admission is free to the 2017 documentary “Chasing Corral.” The film taps into the collective will and wisdom of an ad man, a self-proclaimed coral nerd, top-notch camera designers, and renowned marine biologists as they invent the first time lapse camera to record bleaching events as they happen. Unfortunately, the effort is anything but simple, and the team doggedly battles technical malfunctions and the force of nature in pursuit of their golden fleece: documenting the indisputable and tragic transformation below the waves. With its breathtaking photography, nail-biting suspense, and startling emotion, “Chasing Coral” is a dramatic revelation that won’t have audiences sitting idle for long. More information and press on this film can be found at chasingcoral.com/press/. Other films a part of this celebration include “Soylent Green” and “Tarzan the Ape Man.” Learn more about these films and special events at mariontheatre.org.
