Appointments open for weekend vaccine clinic

Appointments have opened for this weekend’s COVID-19 vaccine clinic, run by Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center and the Kodiak Emergency Operations Center. 
There were a total of 400 appointments available. By Tuesday afternoon, there were a little less than 300 still left open. 
Anyone over the age of 16 is eligible to get the vaccine. The clinic requires appointments. They can be made at covidvax.alaska.gov or by calling 907-646-3322. 
The clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, at the parking lot of the Harbormaster’s office on Marine Way in downtown. 
In Kodiak, 45% of everyone over the age of 16 has already received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 32% have gotten both doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna dose, both of which require two doses.
