The province of Nova Scotia has opened applications for the sixth round of Sexual Violence Prevention Innovation grants.
There is a total of $50,000 in grants available, with the maximum amount available for any one applicant being $5000.
Department of Community Services Minister, Kelly Regan, said in an interview, organizations who’ve received the grant in other years can apply again, but it needs to be for a new initiative.
“It’s about making sure that people understand how to prevent sexual violence; It’s about things like consent,” she said. “And often, young people in marginalized groups don’t have the opportunity to have these conversations or to learn in a way that works best for them.”
