Applications For Hartford Community Gardens Now Open

HARTFORD, CT – Thirty years ago Amanda and Jose signed up for their first garden plot at the Battle Street Garden with KNOX! Every year since, they have planted, tended, and harvested many vegetables for their own use at home. Over the years the couple has adapted to share any extra produce with their now grown children and several lucky neighbors.
The couple recently renewed their application for space in the Battle Street Garden, one of the twenty (20) KNOX Community Gardens KNOX manages throughout Hartford. Last year the number of gardeners doubled at KNOX due to COVID-19, and it is anticipated that the need for available space will continue to expand.
