Forget Covid, climate change, cleaning the bathroom after a two-week hiatus; there is no greater horror known to man than watching your body slowly transform into that of your fatherâs: hairline, potbelly and all. So, at the start of 2020, I decided to delay the inevitable and took up running for at least the seventh time in my life. And do you know what? The habit actually stuck. I now trundle around West London for five kilometres about four times a week and feel a whole lot better for it.
The reason I mention this is not to proclaim some sort of newfound athletic prowess; the exact opposite is true. I have zero intention of marathoning before Iâm six feet under, havenât Instagrammed my #goals once and spent Friday night mainlining a whole pizza and three cans of IPA. In essence, I am exactly the kind of person Apple Fitness+ was made for.
