Another Catholic Priest Rev. McDonald Kankhono dies of COVID-19

A dark cloud has once again engulfed the Roman Catholic Church congregants in the country following the demise of Reverend Father MacDonald Kankhono of the Diocese of Zomba.
Reverend Kankhono died today at Zomba Central Hospital.
Episcopal Conference of Malawi (ECM) Secretary General Reverend Father Henry Saindi confirmed of the death in the statement, saying Reverend Kankhono died of COVID-19.
“We have lost Fr MacDonald Kankhono of the Diocese of Zomba. Funeral ceremony will take place tomorrow at Zomba Cathedral from 8:30 am,” said Saindi in the statement.
Until his death, Reverend Father Kankhono was serving as Parish Priest of Thondwe Catholic Parish, Judicial Vicar for the Diocese of Zomba and lecturer at St. Peter’s Major Seminary.
