Family and friends of two teenage girls who died in a car crash three years ago gathered near the northeast Ocala crash site on Tuesday to remember their lost loved ones. The gathering was held within sight of a traffic control light which was installed at the busy intersection following the crash and became operational this year.
Vanguard High School students and members of the VHS band's color guard, Amanda Lopez, 15, and Alyssa Comstock, 17, were headed to a Christmas concert practice when their car collided with a semi truck on Northeast 14th Street and Northeast 30th Avenues, and both girls were killed.
