Anne Arundel County starting teacher salaries could get $8,000 bump under proposed county executive budget amendment

In an effort to make teaching jobs more competitive and desirable to incoming educators, the Office of County Executive Steuart Pittman is proposing an amendment to his current proposed operating budget for the Board of Education to increase starting teacher salaries by about $5,000 more than what would be planned for fiscal year 2024.
