Ann Arbor awards $1.6 million construction contract for South Industrial Highway project

ANN ARBOR, MI — Ypsilanti-based construction firm Doan Construction Company was chosen to complete Ann Arbor’s $1.6 million South Industrial Highway concrete repair project.
Ann Arbor City Council approved a resolution to award the contract to Doan Construction at its April 5 meeting.
Doan Construction was the lowest bidder with a bid amount of $1,071,197.58, which is 40% lower than the city engineer’s estimate of $1,800,623.80 and $163,451.26 lower than the next lowest bidder, according to city staff.
Six bids for the project were received on Feb. 16, after project plans and specifications were distributed through the city’s procurement website, officials said.
