ANC MP Bongani Bongo acquitted of corruption charges
ANC MP Bongani Bongo had been alleged to have attempted to bribe the evidence leader in a Parliamentary probe looking into Eskom
African National Congress (MP) and former State Security Minister Bongani Bongo seems tobe off the hook, at least for now. The the Western Cape High Court on Friday, February 26, 2021, dismissed the corruption charges against him.
Bongo had been accused of attempting to bribe parliamentary legal adviser, advocate Ntuthuzelo Vanara in 2017. At the time, Vanara was the evidence leader of parliament’s inquiry into Eskom. Bongo was arrested in November 2019 and subsequently released on bail.
