Amsterdam’s famed red light district will be closed and moved to an ‘erotic centre’, following an agreement by concillors.
The news is the latest in a prolonged war against the supposedly seedier aspects of the Dutch capital. In April 2020, Amsterdam's council banned red light tours from the medieval district, also called De Wallen, as a countermeasure against overtourism.
