Amherst County Service Authority fined for chemical spill

The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality recently fined the Amherst County Service Authority for violating state law in July 2022 when an unauthorized discharge of a coagulant from a tank at the Henry Lanum, Jr. Water Treatment Plant flowed into Harris Creek.
