Photos of a laughing baby boy as he grew from a swaddled infant to a toddler playing with his cousins materialized across a screen. Below the images sat an altar decorated with a wooden cross, blue and yellow roses and teddy bears.
Mariesol Gomez watched from the front row of the Castle Ridge Mortuary. After months of uncertainty after the boy went missing, she and about 40 family members and friends came together to remember the short life of James Avi Chairez.
