American Fuji Seal investing $52M in NC plant

Bardstown, Ky. — Label and pouch converter American Fuji Seal Inc. is investing $52 million in a new plant in Hickory, N.C.
The plant will employ up to 101 workers, according to a news release from Gov. Roy Cooper.
American Fuji Seal is based in Bardstown and makes shrink-sleeve labels, self-adhesive labels, spouted pouches and packaging. Established in 1975, the company is part of Osaka, Japan-based Fuji Seal International and also has plants in Jeffersonville, Ind., and Mexico City.
"The expansion will further enhance our position in the market as a total packaging solutions provider and the global leader in shrink sleeve labels," President Akikazu Yada said in the release.
