Some of the members of folk trio Amble were strangers when they formed the night before their first ever performance. They hadn’t even officially decided to become a group when they played together at the Glens Centre in north Leitrim in late 2022. Hardly over a year old, Amble is composed of Robbie Cunningham (vocals and guitar), Ross McNerney (mandolin and guitar) and Oisín McCaffrey (guitar and vocals). The three men, from Leitrim, Longford and Sligo respectively, were thrown together when Cunningham went looking for someone to play music with for fun in Dublin. They have a folky, nostalgic sound, reminiscent of the titans of the genre, like The Dubliners.
