PART of the beauty of living in Malaysia is being able to enjoy food from many cultures.
It may be a Ramadan buffet but those who fancy rich Indian food and Malay fare cooked with loads of spices will certainly enjoy the buffet spread at Pasar Baru, New World Petaling Jaya Hotel in Kelana Jaya.Executive chef Khalil Zakhem, who is from Syria, loves Indian food. His years of experience working in Dubai, Saudi Arabia and Morocco has made him an expert in catering to the needs of locals there who also fancy Indian food.
Khalil’s buffet spread is commendable as the taste of the various curry and meat-based dishes is mouth-watering. The dishes are skilfully prepared and the buffet provides value-for-money, based on the variety and quality of food served. He is also a big fan of nasi kandar and has prepared about eight different types of curry to go with the dish.
