Though House panels are not allowed to meet currently due to Covid-19 surge, Chowdhury said, "in numerous occasions in the past" the PAC met with Speaker's permission to taken up matters of larger concern. Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee chairman Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Thursday wrote to Speaker Om Birla, seeking immediate permission to hold a PAC meeting to scrutinise the Centre's vaccination policy against Covid-19.
