All smiles as elementary school students in Utica head back to the classroom
Elementary school students return to the classroom for the first time in nearly a year.

Utica, N.Y. - A big 'Welcome Back' sign on the outside of Albany Elementary School in Utica said it all on Monday as elementary students throughout the district went back to in-person learning for the first time in nearly a year.
Albany Elementary School 5th grade teacher Jessica Wilks says the smiles on kids faces Monday morning meant the world to everyone who works in the district, "The smiles this morning, I can see them smiling through their masks walking through them down the hall, it was amazing, it was completely refreshing."
