Its on the bottom of the ocean. This will not lead us to where that flight data recorder is. Theres various ways of looking at the piece to see where it comes from. Thats right. The serial number that you would want to the have, which individually identifies this seems to be missing. The plate its print on is not on this. That is not the fingerprint youd hope for in trying to make sure you are connected there. Investigators will look at component parts. If you think of an airplane as a model youd put together, the maintenance personnel rely on it, knowing what goes where. Photos that come out of the investigation show a component part number 657 bb. Which corresponds in the maintenance manual of the boeing triple 7 to a flapperon. As far as we know theres only one boeing 777, mh370. Investigators have to be cautious. And as jacob suggested. One thing you didnt mention, it tells us a little about how it may have come down. It talked about locating where it came from, the indian ocean, the general area, but it doesnt answer the why. Thats a lot of territory to cover. But can it eliminate if it cant tell us what happened, can it eliminate some of the possible scenarios, for example, an explosion.
