Chattanooga Police Officers located the suspect down the highway. And chased it to the second location. Eventually the officers confronted the suspect at the second location. It is apparent by looking at the crime scene and what we have seen so far of the crime scene that these were under a tremendous amount of gun fire fromfrom this individual yet they continued to move forward against this individual and eliminated this threat saving numerous lives throughout this community. Let me make it clear we will treat it as an act of terrorism unless it is treated one way or another as if it were an act of terrorism or some other criminal event. He was very devastate id and he actually apologized for what his son did to the community at large and to the muslim community. And i told him that we all feel disstrawt. Distraught. Of course on that southbound side we have all those vehicles both abandoned and damaged or destroyed. So were trying to find drivers and get all those vehicles towed out of the way to start the reopening process. Also is it true that people in that area are using drones and that might have hampered the firefighting efforts there . Yeah, the most recent information i had that there was a total of five drones seen, it did ground our air tanker resources for about 17 or 20 minutes. So it certainly had an impact but its difficult to be quantify how big an impact. 3500 acres burned, how many people are being evacuated nearby from the fire itself . I dont have any numbers on people or the number of homes that are inside the evacuation area. It is a pretty large area if you start getting up kind of to the north side into some outskirts of some communities there. It certainly has a really big impact here for almost everybody in Southern California that either lives or plans to make a weekend trip to vegas or so on. And also did the drought make it more difficult to battle the fire and are you blaming the drought for the fire itself . Well, yeah its a combination of climate and weather. We had some pretty steady strong winds up there real warm temperatures, it was to the mid to upper 90s also some very low humidities down near the single digits. Reporter local police say sandra bland killed herself while in Police Custody and the medical examiner says agrees, it was suicide, but her family says thats not possible. More than 100 protesters gathered outside the Waller County jail where a young black woman was found dead in her cell. San sandra bland had just moved from texas to el paso, on july 10th a state patrol stopped her for not using her blinker when she changed lanes. She became combative and kicked the officer and they arrested her for assaulting a public servant. I cant even hear. At one point police addressed a witness filming the arrest. Thank you for recording thank you. How bland ended up being thrown to the ground is unclear. She spent the weekend at the Waller County jail. Early monday morning authorities found her dead in her jail. The medical examiner ruled it a suicide. The justice of the peace who was called to the scene said she used a plastic bag to kill herself. I found a black mark on her neck. Her family questions that outcome. Truly filled with life and joy and so when you think through the circumstances that have been shared with us at this point it is unimaginable. Investigators in texas say they see no evidence of foul play. We have reviewed the video and at no point does it appear that anyone goes into that cell and harms her in any way. Bland made a video in march with evidence that she might be suicidal. I am suffering from something some of you may be suffering right now, it is a little bit of depression as well as ptsd. What would she do this to herself, so that is of course extremely relevant that she may have been suffering from some sort of mental illness. Blands relevanceblands relatives say they want to meet with authorities in texas. We are not going to demonize that community. What we are wanting to do is understand what happened. The trooper who pulled bland over has been on desk duty for violating procedures. The fbi and the Texas Rangers are now investigating the incident. Erica pitzi, thank you very much.
