Demonstrations against the rule of president sisi erupted after eid prayers in several locations here. [ gunfire ] reporter near the capitol, at least six people including one woman was shot dead. They were among hundreds of anticoup activists who took to the streets. The banned Muslim Brotherhood has blamed the police for the latest deaths. Egypts interior Ministry Says 15 members of the brotherhood were arrested. They wanted eid to pass with no elements of protest, because they knew after the prayer which is a time when a lot of people can gather and take to the streets, so they were really trying to send a message that we are not tolerating any protests. Reporter president morsi was forced out of power by the military two years ago, since then his supporters have held sporadic protests. An armed group in egypt says it launched a missile at a naval ship. That came two weeks after a major battle between the egyptian oarmy and the sinai province group. Last month a car bomb killed the prosecutor general, an attack for which the isil affiliate also claimed responsibility. Last week another powerful blast hit the italian consulate in cairo. Under sisi thousands of Muslim Brotherhood sympathizers as well as activists have been jailed but the instability and violence continue. Memorial services are being held to mark one year since Malaysian Airlines flight mh17 was shot out of the sky over eastern ukraine. Of the 298 passengers and crew nearly 200 were dutch. Some held flags of the countries from where the victims came as music played they quietly thought about the horror they had seen on a similar sunny day one year ago. I cannot control my emotions and tears even now. Reporter the leader of the donetsk peoples republic said the investigations must continue. The west say evidence so far suggest his fighters shot down the passenger airliner flight mh17. He says Ukraine Forces are to blame. After poems were read the people let go of the symbols of the dead that they had been holding in their hands. The white balloons released into the sky, symbolizing the 298 people that fell to their deaths in surrounding fields and countryside. Hundreds have come out to pay their respects and mourn the dead. The hills are quiet now. The fighting in this area, at least, has stopped. Flowers lie by a marble stone it reads in memory of the dead 198 innocent people victims of civil war. Afterwards australia was at the forefront to get independent access to the site for investigators and has called for russia to come clean over its involvement. But fridays ceremonies were less about politics than commemoration. First a plaque was unveiled with all of the names of the australian victims inspired upon it. Later, a poignant service was held for families of the victims, music, speeches and then one by one flowers in memory of each of those who died were placed on a wreath. Two people have been injured after police opened fire on a demonstration in burundis capitol. The group was protesting against the president s bid to run for a third term in next weeks election. Outside of the capitol, however, people are focused on poverty, not politics. Catherine soi reports. Reporter a Fishing Community on the outskirts of burundis capitol prepare for night. They are looking for fish. Without protective gear strong boats and proper fishing equipment, many have died in the rough waters. These fishermen grew up doing this. They say they dont have a way out, and they are afraid their children will also have no choice. Translator you tell me about protests. All we want is good leaders. We just want someone who can empower us economically. Translator these fishermen seem detached from the political crisis that lead to protests against president nkurunziza who is running for a third term in office. This is a very tough job that needs a lot of patience. On a good day the fishermen will make about a hundred dollars but those days are far in between. And today is not their lucky day. Translator sometimes when theres too much of a current, the boat can capsize, but its our only job, and we just to do it. Our government doesnt care about our needs. Reporter burundi is one of the poorest nations in the world, about 10. 5 Million People live in this relatively small country, and most of them on less than a dollar a day. Jobs are hard to find and Economic Growth is slow. We expected Something Like 7 to 8 since maybe 2012. And now we are running at 4 , even 4. 5 which is not enough. Reporter these artists hope their drums and music will encourage peace as the country gears up for tense president ial elections. The peace drums are an ancient and sacred tradition. Here at home, he says it is more than just drumming and singing. Translator the songs we sing have a message of peace. So we hope the president and everybody else understands. Translator and so they keep drumming and perhaps thinking of a time when these drums galvanize people to live in harmony. Burundis president Pierre Nkurunziza held a Campaign Rally on friday north of the capitol. Its a one of his last major represents before the country goes to the polls next week. The decision by the president to stand for a third consecutive term has lead to months of protests. Haru was at the rally and sent this update. Reporter the president is telling his supporters that the president ial election will take place next tuesday despite opposition parties calling for a delay. And he is out campaigning where he has a lot of support. Here are some of his supporters who have come out in numbers, and say they are going to vote for him. They say he represents their interest, the interests of the poor. Elsewhere opposition parties are trying to end this impasse. Some are saying it is clear the elections will take place, so what is the point of the talks being brokered by the uganda president. Some say it is more about after the elections, so basically talks about forming a government of National Unity. The key question is are all of those involved agree to this proposal, and what could this government of National Unity actually consist of . Muslims around the world is celebrating eid, the threeday festival marks the end of the holy month of ramadan. Syrian refugees at a camp in jordan have been making the most of their day despite harsh living conditions. Kaitlin mcghee has more. Reporter the children are out at the refugee camp in jordan dressed in their best getting new toys, and playing with their trends. They are celebrating then of the muslim holy month of ramadan. Syrians living here are determined to make the day special. Translator this is their childhood. Do you want us to deprive them of their life . You cannot. Whatever the child asks for, you have should provide it with everyone means necessary. Translator eid here in the camp is for children. They are the ones that make eid beautiful. You know the psychological pressures they experience in syria, and the pressures here including the heat and lack of water, they get to remember the days of eid in syria. Reporter the camp is home to more than 80,000 syrians. This man came to jordan two years ago. He is among the 4 Million People who have escaped the war in syria, and gone to neighboring countries. Reporter we feel that during this eid, were very far away from our children. Far from our country, far from our siblings. Reporter life here at the camp isnt always easy. Power cuts are Common Social services basic, and petty crime is on the rise.
