You know its really hard i think we need to be monitoring multiple things those are included you know youre not going to have cases if you dont pass as President Trump has repeatedly cited that you need to be testing right now we have more tests in the United States partly because weve increased our testing but more because we have increased transmission were following death which is also really important to follow weve seen that there has been a decline in death for that seems to have plateaued we dont know whether theres going to be a lag whether theres going to be increase in deaths in the coming weeks or if weve gotten better at treating this virus which some of us certainly hope there are other things like access mortality and how many peoples contacts are actually being followed what percentage of people that have been exposed are reached and are receiving contect racing cases and deaths are important metrics right but they may not necessarily be comparable many other places especially in some places that are not doing testing at all places like in burundi for example that only has you know 10200 cases there are undoubtedly more passed more cases theyre just theres no testing being done thats being reported so the global you know that 11 and a half 1000000 cases that are being reported as undoubtedly an undercount if we only look towards that were not going to get a real indication of how bad this pandemic is god and final question for you dr craig what are your thoughts on where we are on a vaccine and when that will actually come to fruition. You know im quite optimistic i think right now in this pandemic just so theres a lot of reason one can be optimistic or pessimistic when it comes to things like treatments and vaccines im actually quite optimistic look this virus has only been around for about 6 months and we already have thousands and thousands of case studies and Journal Articles and preparing articles looking at what medications work like that the methods own a very commonly used in available medication and what medications dont work thats great thats an incredible feat for something that weve only been doing for a few months when it comes to the vaccine were all putting a lot of hope on this because we know its going to be one of the keys to getting us back to somewhat of a normal life the fastest weve ever made a vaccine in the world is 4 years thats a months vaccine thats currently use that was then in the 1960 s.
