The Los Angeles Police and other Police Departments here are able to. Surround. Subdue and arrest people it is a peaceful process and i think that you could say that these people are practicing civil disobedience. Deliberately breaking the curfew and subjecting themselves to. Rob i want to take us back viewers back to some of the earlier pictures that we were seeing of that standoff as its been developing over the last few hours there were a whole load of protesters who basically lay down on the ground some on their knees hands up in the air and they were chanting peaceful protest peaceful protest as the police were approaching we saw that standoff is there the sense that you get that there is some kind of tacit agreement really between the police and the protesters that this is a show of civil disobedience but there is one thing to maintain order and it does look very orderly. Looting with arson with breaking in and taking things that dont belong to people this is part of a political protest this is related to the death of george floyd and long simmering frustration in the Africanamerican Community and their allies because you look at this crowd you can see that there are people of all races all genders all dash all backgrounds its not just africanamericans its lots and lots of people and they are there are all d d in this together i guess you could say. And i would just finally an add that for the most part weve been driving around the city for a couple of hours now in between live shots and for the most part the cities deserted there are very very few people on the streets theres a very heavy Police Presence so it appears that the enforcement of the curfew has been effective. From the Police Perspective and there are not massive numbers of people who are still demonstrating in the city as far as we can tell but for the folks here.
