Absolutely the fact the president ial office is at the moment giving a News Conference to giving their response this was expected but its going to make it no easier for south korea to swallow there will be a sense of disappointment to say the least indignation in many quarters because this is really a slight is basically japan saying we dont trust you with our strategically sensitive high tech components as you said there is likely to be a knock on effect a lot of these components then go on to other factories in china or in vietnam so theres a possibility going to be a knock on effect around the region and all of this goes of course to this Ongoing Court battle that weve been having here in south korea with the Supreme Court in south korea siding with victims of war time forced labor these were people who were forced to work during the 2nd world war in japanese factories apparently been settled by in 1965 agreement its the courts in south korea said no its not settled and the old boarded the certain Japanese Companies to pay compensation that has enraged japan they said that these moves are not connected with that but its seen here in south korea as being very much retaliation and south korea says look there is nothing we can do this is the courts who are making this decision but that presumably is not believed by japan and japan does suspect that the south korean government is playing politics here bringing up the wartime wreck or the atrocities committed by japan here on the Korean Peninsula as a so is there any possibility then rob of this being reversed in or i mean is there anything to the south korean government. Given that it did this decision is not going to be welcome can do to try to get japan to change as mine. They had been right until the very last moment been a concerted lobbying effort we had lawmakers from south korea all week in japan trying to meet trying to lobby on behalf to try to reverse this decision because many people here said this deal really does change the whole dynamic the relationship between south korea and japan which as we know has been a very troubled past whats likely to be the response to this is its going to escalate a boycotting campaign that weve seen here in south korea there have been protests on the streets urging people not to buy japanese its affected car sales here other goods also the numbers of visitors from south korea going to japan has been affected we are seeing Airlines Cutting a number of flights and more specifically on the government to government level we could see fallout here between the 2 allies the south korea and japan at the moment to collaborate in an intelligence pact which was established in the past few years specifically to try to deal with all of the missile launches from north korea now that comes up for renewal later on this month and there is a move here in south korea that if japan doesnt trust south korea with its high tech components well you know what maybe we shouldnt trust the japanese with our intelligence say some people here in south korea that in turn has got the United States very concerned they are trying to call for a time out to try to get people to cool that and of course it comes at a time when we have all of this increased missile activity from north korea and weve just seen russia and china collaborating on military patrols et cetera so this does have a big impact on a lot of Different Things happening right now in this part of the world hasnt. And a number a number of the the most pressing issues scott have been brought over the last few days that they say as young as 7 but so far little progress is that likely to change a poll today. Well i think you know we can say that there should be some more news coming out of the meetings today i dont know if its necessarily going to be progress when you look at that situation with this meeting in the afternoon this tripartite meeting i think there are going to be some serious discussions going on not necessarily progress but obviously hopefully focusing on the issue at hand a very Current Issue at hand one thing thats interesting the Chinese Foreign minister and u. S.
