South africas former president tells an inquiry corruption allegations against him were a conspiracy to remove him. Follow us President Donald Trump is refusing to back down despite growing criticism of his racially charged tweets against 4 Democratic Congresswoman instead hes calling on ben was to apologize to america and israel for what he described as the foul language theyve used and the terrible things theyve said he accused them of being antisemitic and on see america well this latest storm began at the weekend when he attacked the 1st term congresswoman in tweets widely condemned as racist he said they originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe and they should go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came 3 of the 4 women hes thought to be referring to were born in the u. S. The other arrives as a child refugee. Well speaking earlier i asked an event at the white house to showcase goods made in america trump defend it his twitter comments if youre not happy here then you can leave so far as im concerned if you hate our country if youre not happy here you can leave and thats what i say all the time thats what i said in a tweet which i guess some people think is controversial a lot of people love it by the way a lot of people love it but if youre not happy in the u. S. If youre complaining all the time very simply you can leave you can leave right now come back if you want dont come back its ok to but if youre not happy you can leave all right well lets now bring in our White House Correspondent kimberly how can he want some reaction has there been from members of congress to these other extraordinary statements. But we should point out that there were some people in the audience where donald trump was speaking and that comment that you just heard got some applause now as members of congress particularly democratic members of congress have been much more critical the House Speaker nancy pelosi the top democrat in the house of representatives has actually introduced a resolution condemning donald trump statements that have been made on sunday and monday as well as those you heard in the rose garden or rather the south lawn of the white house as xenophobia that has been acco by many of the Democratic Congresswoman the tongue tribe is attacking now when it comes to republicans the response has been much more muted in fact its really just trickled out some of the republican members of Congress Senators mostly have been saying that this is racially charged and offensive language that has crossed the line but we should point out that there are others like the republican from South Carolina Lindsey Graham who has defended these comments defended the president s statements essentially doubling down on the president s claims that many of these members of congress hate america theyre communists and really has sort of almost echoed without using the same language the sentiments of the u. S. President and company what are you making of the timing of all of bass wanting to play now. There are a couple of reasons why this is happening now of course america seems to be in a perpetual state of campaigning for president ial elections well it is 2019 already we see the president kind of sharpening his spears if you will on democratic opponents that he sees as potentially making it problematic for him to win reelection but it goes to a much bigger issue than that and that is the issue of immigration which is a key part of why don truck was elected in the 1st place house members of congress are Holding Series of hearings to look at Donald Trumps immigration policy so certainly hes trying to control the narrative there as well he is getting some pushback for a new set of asylum rules that are being put in place effective tuesday that many are going to say will be challenged in the courts and as well you have to remember that that Robert Muller probe or russia investigation into whether or not there was collusion between the Trump Campaign and russia well the author of that report Robert Muller himself will be testifying in Congress Next week so these are all in the back of the mind of the president likely why he is sharpening some of his attacks trying to control that news narrative in advance of anticipated criticism kimberlee at the white house thank you well in an interview with al jazeera one of those Democratic Congresswoman said the u. S. Is living through a traumatizing time on the trumps leadership colorization in this country really has existed for a long time and what were seeing right now is an earthing of the kind of cancerous that could really present. But. The positive thing is that every time when there is a challenge there is an opportunity so because we have the most the face of president were living in. Historically a traumatizing time at least in my generation in this country and you can watch our full interview with ellen omar on talk to aljazeera thats this saturday at 430 g. M. T. I was going to just mentioned the Top Administration is tightening a sign of rules in an effort to curb the number of migrants arriving at the Us Mexico Border the new rules say any migrant who has passed through another country 1st and did not ask for asylum there will be ineligible for asylum in the u. S. Migrants whove been trafficked will be exempt from the ban which is expected to go into effect on tuesday the move would leave hundreds of thousands of Central Americans traveling through mexico unable to seek asylum in the u. S. European Foreign Ministers have met in brussels to discuss ways to bring the United States and iran back to the negotiating table to save the nuclear deal after the talks the e. U. Foreign policy chief insisted the deal is still alive it is the latest diplomatic effort to address months of heightened tension between tehran and washington john mccain reports out from brussels. For more than a year the e. U. Has trying to preserve the Nuclear Agreement with iran devising schemes to help the tech run government reduce the impact of u. S. Sanctions but now that deal is in danger like never before we are looking to find a way to preserve the nuclear deal which we think is the best way of keeping the middle east as a whole Nuclear Weapon free. Iran is still a good year away from developing a Nuclear Weapon we think there is still some closing thoughts more window to keep the deal alive one of the brokers of the original deal known as the j c peer a is clear about what must happen next we want to see going back to full compliance thats been in this in these years. But we notice that technically all the steps that have been taken and that weve had that have been taken are reversible so we hope and we invite you to reverse the steps and go back to full compliance with the agreements but how much sway do european voices have although the strength of feeling here in brussels is pretty clear no amount of words from the e. U. Alone can compel the u. S. And iranian governments to negotiate with each other for that to happen there has to be a willingness on both sides to give ground and on that the view from the government in tehran is clear. When a big power that is a bully well then we have to stand up to it it must stop being a bully we have always believed in talks always right this hour right this moment if they stop the oppression they stop the polygynous if they lift sanctions return to the table return to logic we are ready so iran denounces the Current Us Administration while maintaining its commitment to the nuclear deal it negotiated with the previous one and yet iran is also operating outside the terms of that deal in some areas for several weeks iranian your anian enrichment has exceeded. Agreed limits all of which has emboldened the Trump Administration with the us president recently warning officials in tehran they were treading on very dangerous territory which means that on the face of it this meeting on its own risks achieving little and all the while iran is technically in breach of its commitments under the Nuclear Agreement dominic a 0 brussels. Meanwhile the French Foreign ministry has revealed that iran has detained a franco in brainy and research up the tasha butler has more now from paris where the French Foreign ministry has confirmed that 3 adult car franco irena in research are based here in paris has been arrested by iranian authorities now what the French Foreign ministry say is that they are in touch with the radian authorities in order to try and gain more information about adult karr about the conditions of her arrest and also make sure that she has full consular access which it seems has not been the case so far natl karr is a researcher with paresis prestigious seal spall university she researches and writes about iran and Iranian Society and so theres still a question over when she was arrested thats still not clear there are some reports suggesting that she was arrested in june and i said he spoke to a professional colleague of hers also a research on iran here in paris who said that she had not had any news from rattle car for at least 2 weeks so that suggests that perhaps end of june beginning of july maybe the sort of period of time in which this researcher was detained by iranian authorities. S. In hay has more from chinas capital beijing. Well the Chinese Government werent set out right but theres no doubt they will be concerned about some of the economic numbers that are coming out it wasnt all doom and gloom on the release of these latest figures there were some bright spots retail sales and industrial output both showed some positive signs in the 2nd quarter of the year industrial output in particular will be welcomed because that sick to had been struggling recently resulting in many factories around china laying off staff but its the overall trend in Economic Growth that has been falling that will be causing a lot of concern really since the end of 2012 its been declining with the odd reprieve along the way part of a global trend of course the Global Economy is slowing down and in fact many countries in and around the world would welcome i would want to have some of the numbers that china is reporting right now but china of course needs to be looked at a little bit differently to most countries and around the world because of the remarkable Economic Growth that it has been through if we go back to the Global Financial crisis in 2009 even in that difficult time china didnt report quarterly growth below 6. 4 percent well were beneath that now so naturally that is going to be causing some concern both within china around asia and beyond and of course all this happening amid the trade dispute between china and the United States the latest trade statistics came out on friday as well showing that imports and exports are down and perhaps the most concerning thing is that we dont know when this trade war is going to end yes theres been a truce declared between the 2 president s meaning no new tariffs are being placed on each others goods but we still dont know when those face to face negotiations are going to restart. Recently denounced model amber rose for promoting a pregnancy version of flat tummy us politicians have also chimed in with sen which implement al urging regulation on both the sale am promotion of detox teams to quote protect consumers from harm and our Community Also has a lot to say on this topic heres one person who urges caution with the socalled detox teens take a look the problem with detox teas they often contain Nutritional Supplements that are and tested and regulated i spoke to a nutritionist who works with several eating disorder patients and she said that. These talks can lead to things like. John doe even promenading irregular heart beat the bottom line stairway for stocks. Were joined from madison connecticut by body patten she is the executive director of truth in advertising a nonprofit media watchdog. Live is the founder of 130 thats a u. K. Based herbal tea company shes in london and Stephanie Mendell is a holistic nutrition consultant she joins us from new york hello everybody its good to see you i was trying to find out what was actually in some of these teas to work out how they would work so im looking looking at this one here our mission on tommy t. Were here to get you back to looking good and feeling good. There for me our purpose to help you live happy a Healthy Lifestyle and we are blenders at heart meaning we love mixing tea and Natural Ingredients i was looking for the ingredients of the tea and i can really find a ingredients and then how does beauty work fantastic name no fancy words all jargon just natural help gets that deliver results stephanie if you were going to examine what it is that these teas do now i would i think so many different ones that are out there but the idea of drinking a drink from a nutrition this consultants point of view what could that do to your insights that spazzed. Thats positive yeah so i mean t. V. Has been around for a long time thousands of years and a lot of herbs use into your various benefits. Can talk more about that but certainly you know theres a wide range of different herbs used in these kinds of cheese and as that woman was saying there are things like laxatives and dire attics and things that have very real. X. On the body so you know in terms of positive benefits you know herbs like ginger we know its into inflammatory there are there can be good things in these. So i want to show this week from Ashley Lauren a member of our community actually says i want to flat stomach like the celebrities plus t. V. Is mostly known to be healthy i would never want to try this way strainers that some celebrities use moving a river is not my cup of tea tea itself however comes from the ground i guess you will shock us on monday meeting today and today so stephanie when she says you will shock us shes of course talking about some of the things that people dont know are in their cup of tea especially when you think comes from the ground and tea is all natural what is she talking about there. Yeah so again i think like anything which nutrition theres a bit more nuance to it than is friendly to marketing. But certainly you know the laxative type in gradients like santa that are in some of these teas are you know they stimulate the muscles in the body to alabama to be frank right off the bat. And you know short term use in someone whos generally healthy of mind and body. May not be a problem very short term but it should be. Monitored and certainly anyone with any sort of just issue i mean a whole range of issues should not use Something Like senna and nobody should be using it long term meaning more than a couple of weeks at most i mean there are of course exceptions to that and that comes down to individual basis and should be discussed with a trained practitioner show i see knees and nodding their knees and make sneeze as one the. Instagram account of liza these are one of the things that you say about your t. Is that there are no laxatives in this team no i do not use any luxa to any of my teens and this is a promise i make to myself as a consumer of the tea and to my. Customers who value customers to me so ive been making these tea for near about. A year and a half and a little bit more know and the marketing through to the u. K. And marie shows where i come from so what i did to ease i found this story of my own so when i started my babies and i started trying to do is wait i couldnt and i started to use these products so effectively had laxative. It kind of really exacerbated my i. B. S. And it caused me a lot of these. Which in turn made me go and find out my own. And i looked into the different hope that im using and i am very proud to see is that i am one of the few who do not use any luck that he and i have so many good reviews from customers but also i am very transparent in all my ingredients i know you were saying earlier you wanted to find ingredients on the website but if you go on my website you will literally find always ingredients and i for losing you can you guide dont sew every ingredient in order the person to do is use yes i do use my diary which is the underlined and butter crude but i do it completely. And its completely does properly and i also have a very detailed struction was a packet i also do not believe that this is the only thing thats going to cause your weight loss what i do believe and what i do promote via my instagram my social media my face and everybody who meets me wherever i go i see its a t. Its a head of the thing and its also being able to control what we use the t. V. For is to help you and also as a tease that are stronger i have these that you cannot repeat these are to days of course because this is not a nice as one ditty ad but i do appreciate your. Almost every possible to avoid it was ok to take a pause for a moment. Just that there was so many of these ts out there they are detox teeth and slimming teas and dieting teas and health days and who knows which ones work and which ones dont work but from an advertising point of view a truth in advertising point of view this is something you have looked into how much can you advice the consumers about which ones to go for because they all ways have beautiful women as people as the advertisers all out there they all seem to be wearing bikinis and have amazing abs of flat stomach some before and after and before psych approach and after sucked in and her nose who knows whats true and what back. It is very hard to know and it also is detox its got an ambiguity to it what it may mean to one person it may not mean to another person and i agree youre seeing a lot of these different ts on social media instagram in particular with women who dont look like they need them at all here in the United States when the things the law says is that if youre going to endorse a product you have to be a user of the product and that if there are other factors that are causing you to have your 6 pack abs that you should be disclosing that to the consumer so that they are starting to get information about how that influencer went about getting that incredible black tummy another issue is you need to tell consumers that what theyre viewing a lot of times is an ad that these influencers are getting paid to do it or theyre getting free product because if we dont know its in that then we might think that this is an organic endorsement by someone that we had meyer that we want to look like or attain or sort of lifestyle so there are a number of issues that that can be raised and i think on the ingredients level consumers absolutely want to know what theyre drinking and putting into their bodies and so if these Health Claims are fitness claims are being made then i think it is incumbent upon these companies and marketers and influencers to let consumers know what is causing this fat flat belly or how or are they operating busy you know all these different ingredients to have these Health Effects on us so i hear what youre saying there and i want to play a video comment that we got from a gastroenterologist in chicago this is dr Jonathan Foster and heres his view on these socalled slimming teas. I. You know maybe the Research Firms are hoping this is a black berry we see how it should be. With me he may have actually read the entire right. Here with so many pages and proof by. Her she always comes out with the primary physician. So the active ingredient including laxatives and ironic snide i wonder if audiences know that we got this comment from someone on you tube talking to us live they write cinna the ingredient that you mentioned there earlier stuff any sin has never done anything for me but give me all full stomach cramps and really irritated my i. B. S. So talking about the medical aspect there was that video coming from the doctor but bonnie talked to us about where we might see this in an add on instagram because of course on television youd see it at the end you hear it very fast talking about all of the things that might be side effects to a drug or to a medicine where would we see things like this well here in the states the law really says that you need to identify an ad as an ad in a clear and can click us manner so hash tag add is one way to do it at the very beginning of an ad but anything that immediately lets us know that what were looking at is some sort of paid indorsement or that they got this for free is incredibly important so we shouldnt have to search for that information and then any. Information that is really material to our wanting to purchase the product should really be disclosed there and i think you know the problem is not only should they be touting the benefits of of these suppose a detox but they should also be letting consumers know about the risks so that theres a balance in that marketing material just as you have to do for other drugs or over the counter drugs laxatives i mean what we have here really is a really great polishing and rebranding of laxatives i dont think if we had kim carr dashi and you know touting her laxative it would probably sell as much as when she gets on there busy promoting flat tummy tea or 50 or what have you i want to show you yet go ahead stephanie. Oh no i think those are great points and yeah you know i think theres just a lot more that people need to be aware of like for instance ahead. You know its not in news its t. V. Had to take a look at that one but in some of them i have seen there are things like caffeine and people need to be aware of that its an obvious steyer attic and. And just being that i think just some sense of the potential downsides to these or at least the potential effects would hopefully prevent someone with Something Like i. B. S. From trying this without consulting their practitioner 1st let me just play this to you this is jim miller who is an actor she was in a broken conference in los angeles in february and she got quite angry about the idea of these detox teams being promoted by celebrities with a lack of responsibility look what she had to say. We people look up to us if you accept money to promote a product and therefore you are telling someone that if you want to be like me you going to dress like me if you want to drink what i drink then you are telling them to be like you to emulate you you have a responsibility to the consumer to make sure that youre not selling them a toxic substance or toxic rhetoric what are not granted if youve got thousands of followers and his followers are young and you have a platform use it responsibly or just go to hell where you belong nice i mean your teen is out there in a market where there are sexy models their influences theyre all promoting different teas and youre in the middle of all of that how did you decide that you were going to go ahead with your marketing strategy. I dont think. Marketing strategy which in using womens body or using force marketing what i do use my own customers. My own customers experience but i also do not believe that. Should be promoting some things that i do want you to 1st of all me and my family. But also. The product comes with all sorts of different and as i was seeing you know it comes with the bent you know the benefits and just started to perceive possible side effects of tys it on instagram and i also informs the clients of for example people who are Breast Feeding people who are pregnant cannot be having cities there as a couple asians and they can have that thats different but the thing is what you have to think is as a as a seller here as a as a person making these tea my. My main responsibility is how would my customers i have to give them a product that they can use. In good faith and not be affected by it and if it doesnt work was it wouldnt be selling it to them and i think this is what everybody should do i do not use any kind of. Influences or anybody like these anyone who i used to promote my tease completely gives honest reviews and also proves that its from their lives and ditties that its working and going to the gym which i could do was well so its not just about its a load of different issue and i think this is what they dont promote on social media when you see kim k. Putting on the as a t. Kid doesnt say oh my god i have this amazing shift oh my god i have this personal trainer you know i dont have a shift i make my own soup and sometimes it doesnt taste nice you know what i mean is i would be. Thats the issue. We have all these influencer who are only showing us the positives of their lives right were not seeing a lot of negatives and i think the issue here is that there are a multitude of influencers promoting these detox ts on things like instagram theyre not disclosing busy that their ads so theyre bringing down sort of the Critical Thinking that many consumers would do theyre not telling about their risks which is another issue. Theyre not telling about all the things they do in their life to obtain the figure that they have and so that its completely deceptive and misleading and the problem is that because social media skews young youre getting a lot of kids and young adults that are going to try these really laxatives or you know drugs that they really need to be cautious about and so i mean i think theres more than a 1000000 hashtags associated with the term detox ts on instagram so not only are consumers seeing these ads but theyre also engaging on social media about it you know putting up their own before and after pictures and so i think there are you know is a real issue here about how do we. Engage in responsible marketing so that there isnt harm to consumers and i think thats a great you know issue that needs to be addressed and when we talk about before and after pictures i want to share one from ms as wonder t. This is your Instagram Account there and you can see the caption is my own weight loss journey green was july 26th team blue was april 27th human oranges april 29th teen my personal battle to lose weight so you see pictures like that of course your account is not the only one we got this. To hear from you says these teas are really funny in ads how can a common t. V. Reduce 50 kilograms of pot belly and some men dont like jimmy keep dreaming talk to us about what you know and how you learned it. When it comes to being able to have a balanced diet weight loss regimen. And use those before and after pictures to get the effects you want in the after. So for me my husband is a one who kind of pushed me towards. Taking care of my host was the its very important to have very. And hes been trying to help me. To maintain my balance so what i do is i replace food for example replace the brightest. From roasted kuno are still have my. List or pretty or and i use roads of vegetable to bulk up my plate. And this is what i do and also what the tea has done for me i have a big i was literally eating like a 1000000 but what did i dont think that in these plus a lot of eating that i can manage having a healthy appetite. I get back all the hour im going to agree with that but. What what. What i what i was what im seeing what my t. Has has helped me reduce bloating and it has helped me me food but then the reality of. It helps you green tea has has been if it is known worldwide but obviously you shouldnt be abusing it so is the one thing that people need to know you cannot you cant abuse something and if you made that point really really well its not theres no magic bullet here theres no Magic Company thats going to do it but money i want to show our audience something that tina dot org so your organization actually investigated and looked into this was the flat tummy t. V. And the ad for that was appeared on instagram a couple of years ago with a british reality star and she says nothings going to get you flat the same as this well and this is her apparently before and this is apparently arthur was i think shes just sucking it in but thats just a call but you pointed out that theres no Scientific Evidence or anything in this tea will give you a flat stomach are we now look here at legislation regulation or if people are that gullible go for it. Oh no i mean i would never take the position that you know consumers are gullible when it comes to these things i mean a picture is worth a 1000000 words right so you see this happen the problem is that if a company t. Company is going to make a claim this tea will flatten your stomach this tea will melt away the fat pounds whatever it has to say they have to be able to back that up they cant just make that up and so the problem is with a lot of these teas that theyre making Health Claims or diet claims that they have no Scientific Evidence to back up and thats a huge issue and that means that theyre making deceptive claims that are just not permitted in most countries under the law so you know what we want is truthful advertising were not saying that you cant promote the product but if youre going to promote a product and youre going to use it with Health Claims then youve got to have a backup for. It here your point there and i want to share this from someone on twitter who says we look up to celebrities and we want to be like them but their lifestyles are not easy to reach for the everyday man i can afford a trainer a chef a stylist a Plastic Surgeon so if the t. V. Is cheaper than the above then maybe a short cut to so stephanie in the closing minute of the show here would you like to see regulation to help people like this person on twitter. Of course i think it would be helpful whatevers going to be helpful to give People Perspective that its not either or you know its not just the t. V. News or youve got the celebrity lifestyle and all that support around you i mean there are a lot of things that people can do or around diet and lifestyle that can make a big difference and yes t. Can provide some benefits that support the body toward certain goals but it needs to work for the person and that can come down to the really individual level of so the more education and the more. The more information out there the better about how these teams can work complete new agreements that its right i mean unfortunately the companies they understand this right you can afford the chef but you cant afford the t. V. And thats what theyre banking on over a incredibly expensive like the most expensive cuppa tea ive seen for a long time i own a nice stephanie thank you so much for your input for helping us understand the socalled detox teas and the dangers and the things that we should be aware as consume less efficient you joining us from the stream today and you can i will see you next time thanks for watching everybody. Iran is still a good year away from developing a Nuclear Weapon we think there is still some closing thoughts more window to keep the deal alive one of the brokers of the original deal known as the j c peer a is clear about what must happen next we want to see going back to full compliance has been in this in these years. Like even in croatia in the parliament you have a balcony of a dog and if people can come every day and look whats happening but you know. Call it russia will call it is long is accepted. And the abandonment of the. Unemployed ill thats such a relations within even the court countries who accept it. But if we accept the logical pinson outs if you create another to blame for our economic taylors. I would not also creating the conditions for outrage tarion fascism. Economies going crazy people get to shout each and every year at this point liberal democrats is fantastic the moment the economy does not show that trailer that americans the problems then immediately it is falling apart people not people ready trying to tell you what they call for food and they call for their leader and it call for a strong man or song. And its not just in europe that people are turning to socalled strong men in the hope of the comic protection. However deceptive that may turn out to be. But the anger and frustration at europes financial colonization also took a very different form. A recent example of it is to be. Founding parents. When president obama tries to introduce a new law that loses french labor rights and makes war more precarious. The usual demonstrations lead to Something Else. On the case. For the last 2 months hundreds of activists have gathered here every evening for what they call they believe that. The night stand given to us to see if you. Can use of my. Hands to be the center is the General Assembly where up to 5000 people gathered to discuss how to solve problems. The refugee crisis for precarious for and their environment. Even when divided to respect. Such an occupation has different committees a committee for ecology kmita protocol nomi committee for legal matters and so on. They conceptualize discuss different proposals already yes and then they come with the proposals and their ideas to the General Assembly and then the General Assembly all of them together in the process of their liberation they decide on the next steps. The Economy Committee wanted to be interviewed together what are the topics you are specifically your group dealing with that the Economy Commission the 1st of all commission is 2 hour or 2 people to be appropriate do you try to devote debates which is started by its not. Ok why do you think it makes sense to gather here and you know in this square there is rainfall and so on if we have already parliamentary democracy in parliaments and institutions. Members want to do good to blast the 1st good offer to look down in all the no. Downside to the complex. And when you take. Your piece of paper mr patel. You know. Who offer it all up and loves that he really. Does want to do Community Good for going online will be just that there will be seats on the issues. Its in a pretty. Good. Place if you see. What people are lacking in representative mike democracy to put it very simple east representation they dont feel represented the people. Joining the. Most of them said you know i dont even go to vote anymore because i dont want to vote for a lung. Problem. When did they realize that the real power is not even anymore in the National Governments the real power is that the europe rule. Of fear in the European Commission European Central Bank Institutions where all of these people who are here tonight are not represented at all. Its the same realisation that sparked the 2000 the level of resistance which spread from sin that must be very real. The birth of the soul in spain across europe to bulgaria romania believe in even for a should. Be. In bosnia the citizens assemblies went beyond making easy to satisfy demands and like all colonial resistance movements demanded the right to rule themselves. What you can see in the European Union today is that we have at least 2 directions one directions we have seen in hungary and in other countries where we have the rise of fascist right wing extremist movements what we can see in paris today is that we have also an attempt of direct democracy which is not linked to right wing extremism but it is linked to the critique of the labor law which was the trigger for for this process it is linked to the Solidarity Movement to try to help the refugees and he said it is a creation of a new political imagination. And in part 2 we look at where dead could take us. Its amazing in the case because you have 4 associates that is good at least has the potential to be biased in a number of different ways there are too many are for sure for the computer to do the right whos just in those offices who commit those data entry is wrong to be saying that your son machine my is wrong to. Kill becoming a suspect before the actual crime and then depth examination into preventative policing precrime on aljazeera and this was different whether someone is telling someone its very rare. If youre not happy here you could leave and thats what i say all the time thats what i said in a tweet which i guess some people think is gods aversion a lot of people love it by the way a lot of people love it but if youre not happy in the us if youre complaining all the time very simply you could leave you can leave right now come back if you want dont come back its ok to but if youre not happy you could leave the European Unions Foreign Policy chief for then he can look at any says the 2015 Iran Nuclear Deal is still alive and no parties to the agreement want to use the dispute resolution mechanism she made the comments after a meeting of e. Maybe 300. 00 people have been arrested across france during unrest or only algerian football teams qualification for the africa cup of nations final celebrations turned violent in paris after algeria beat nigeria 21. 00 in extra time. Of news after you right after the 2nd half of europes been colony. 2 2 2 2 2 i. Miss my old bull that i like to call it the thought that day but we all saw the movie the one we remember how it and the movie. A start it was the power of. The people to take over ok as the only shit beat i made it to shame my mom got into slavery ok shes dead but even if you could be alive to heat and feel im cold. The thought of in debt that part too but what chip and then ok people take over what you lost how do they change the state what did they go. Its a great question and maybe one that political teary content. Maybe instead the answer is to be found in how ordinary people are coping with the crisis. In greece some of the energy from syntagma square has come here. What we can see here almost like a very ordinary market think seem like any other market in europe you can see people selling not people selling for people selling cheese. But its not an ordinary market its a very unique market. A complete parallel economy is being created in greece because of the financial crisis. Its called the no middle men movement and its a response to greeces powerful supermarkets who try to increase prices while paying farmers less so some decided to cut out the middleman and sell basics like eggs and potatoes directly to the people. The big difference is customers order everything in other ones true the organizers and come here before picking up their goods. And exchanging Shopping Habits as people group together to buy cheaply in bulk. Its busy today. Because usually we have. One. Really good one month on what is the amount of money which is circulating i do know this because. 60. 6045. People have a very very short monitoring where this is getting worse because of the crisis in. The community right market also asks everyone to help support those in need because the producers have to give a percentage of the sales in food for the. Workers the percentage they get a voucher i think. So this is the basket of solidarity all of you know the coming back not from the producers everyone of the consumer who comes here i may if your see wants. Some formed. When theres more than this movement of solidarity started. Just 10 families now after for. Those. We have 140. Shows so no its not that well known and we dont want the state involved because this is a. Movement of people of peoples who have the power. They feel the power back they couldnt rely anymore on the government and on the other case they didnt want to sell their goods to the supermarkets. Particularly interesting as someone who was born in yugoslavia. We should experiment of its old cold self management socialism is that all of this functions as a kind of self management although when you speak. For the people. They wouldnt describe themselves as socially. You see such things it gives us hope that include a few 1000000 things football differently. You can see why the no middleman movement wants to stand apart from the state but to bring about large scale change done citizen led movements need to be braver. I mean humble germany the heart of the european empire to hear about one such movement thats profoundly changed the city. Germany has a very active Environmental Movement as demonstrated in actions like this one in 2010. It was a protest against what in fact the Swedish Company had allowed to repeat accidents to cure at nearby Nuclear Power plants. So 120000 people joined hands to link the 2 power stations together a distance of over 100 kilometers. After that protest numbers felt empowered to take on powerful companies as well as the state under the leadership of the huns. We came here very. Evident and im stunned yet many of humble even just one on one less humble who might want to get across and just say yes to. Such a thing was previously in private ownership yeah. Bridge. Of the. Greatest definition had yeah. Internet into ninetys that you urged countries to liberalize course were privatized their energy markets. This vattenfall took over much of germanys Energy Supply including cumbersome electricity grid. Until the because campaign convinced the city to buy it back. It isnt the asters you know family time via intel isnt. Undersheriff in design mode this isnt that slightest little go damaged one in 10000 on the. Side just for folks in charge of a few not 50000. 00 righted. And what were the main arguments of the complaint. The idea neti neti innocent a 100 calls and im a busy foodie in any event and that some can you know even a santa complex is a ho on the nefesh be enough and if ive been in the color orange doesnt. Travel as a benefit in for cars when it doesnt of michigan. Or are they only managed a narrow win in the referendum with just 50 point one percent in favor. Probably because they were up against the entire establishment the mayor the main centralized and right parties the Energy Companies and even the unions. As a share in the we should off topic on. Just the humble zefi of the victim gangs of you dust and fun we take on an entree reasoning and hasnt quite viewer who are going to progress on through the nets of idiots or go forward and us m. Yeah thats perfect me try to not. And in 2016 humber bought back then and theres a great so now its profits go back to the city. The gas and Heating Networks will follow soon one nightmare for the Energy Companies and their investors. Can send our home movie editing and things message then its just wired for a nexus on a National Hunt bust and this needs to assume the angst to copy tides for him poor god as it just wasnt my point. After the fall of the venom hole that was sure to 0 sum for him with his ations and free market ideology what we have seen in home work is that maybe today he said yes challenge and we have a new kind of enthusiasm which isnt was just to take back the public message. Since then 170 german towns have taken back control of their energy create. Some as a result of pressure from citizens some through the policies of forward thinking mayors. In the former east germany one such mayor has come up with a unique way of handling the refugee crisis. 2 there. 2 on my journey ive seen refugees forced to live in appalling conditions and defined as the political other. But in friedlands they have to take. In a different approach. This was once a busy town full of factories processing regional Agricultural Produce but the fall of the barely wall so factories close and the jobs leave. Merivale bloc of the century right christian democrats is a former factory worker the term in to save the town and. Its sort of a big if i goes over 3 luckily for friedland the mayor has plenty of energy. As a hero i know of course between. 120 up and down and also to survive as a man in tamer or and in a companion its one and mention god compile your eyes and yes i believe. When the berlin wall came down west germany privatized the state on the east German Economy enterprises and competitive were sold for a pittance and close even though hes. Taken. To 14 and us flight of our hoods a man does find a niche so if im in the normal force as i did our guard invitro by. Feelings or your own trim my dust on him does indicate that we are seeing between up in the gold one of. The fin encounters thats an hour and splits and. Despite attempts to attract new industry most young people move away so the population here is shrinking and getting older isnt the start one and fear dimension. And as one can imagine and feeling and. So the mayor had an idea to both help refugees in need and revive his town. But i do it in a nuclear bomb slowly beaten to the mention of a 103. 00 guns with the kinds and arms of this one snitch killing i think about its. Time to see who comes and we just because im the animal i need to shift you do you know what it is now that thats very divided nets for men often. Come under the flight ships he didnt figure income others are most much we are doing ones on the. Side too shy to go and often get seen parts and flood sponsored plots and daddy has been convinced quarter 2. So theyve asked for more than the both of refugees and theyre even trying to mine their bribery to convince them to stay. C 2 the fuck Floating Exchange you can see this is the place where the refugees for one euro they can get free this is sort of folks. Youre no good no good no no yes everyone smile that oh thats just gross yeah me to now conflict because it was then i stick to good men. I know that you know you are so fucking that here now yeah coming into thinking that they can do. That mind my my crushing they all yeah yeah and hes going to clank ignite mikami king and almost. Talking to the mayor you begin to understand why angle america was keen for germany to accept so many Syrian Refugees here balmy im feeling a bit like these lads in gastronomy this kid but youve already won. Thats reason to hold the bomb your lot on a deal before i was shown almost 100 chance to win a business by. Which 450. 00 refugees living in this small town there is the potential for conflict and misunderstanding but the mayor has set up a committee to avoid just that. Show the telephone this is the meeting this is the meeting of the village on the walls or entire block of. Social services the job center churches schools and businesses all sent representatives here hardly dislike them in the present that even phone them through clinton here they have me missing some you know let me do it yeah yeah but maybe its a good idea to drive to the most you can also when youve got some classes rheumatism i should just remove all the blamed teenage boy from home doesnt it seem to prove young via a minute. Is a shaft in the woods and most would do it in the nose of constantly if someone is out here in a my local farm you were shots of out of here. This short. While i live all in the willing and. We did the shooting was awful. So there was a doctor from syria already here varies here today in berlin so what theyre trying to do is actually because 4 of the doctors who are here now are going to mention. They want to keep some of the afghan or syrian doctors here so they are also discussing this at the moment because they are a need for doctors the town is now famous for its quest to find a new population. But what do the refugees fleeing. Hearing feel and how do the people who live here how did it treat you or sometimes it is so it. Is so us. As the strangers you know. But in general if they are good you live in one of these apartments yeah i hear i live here. From 6 months here i have 5 verses in the house with me. And but it is a house it was good you would do stay in friedland if you would find a job here or do you know right this mall is if the small yeah yeah it is small and i want to complete my in my study of the city richard can probably only the way in the bigger city alone but really on how mostly maybe the mayor knows thats how most will react thats why his plan rests on just 10 percent of the refugees wanting to stay. Most of the population in your role in 10 or 20 years will be population above 60 or 70 so in a way the coming of refugees to this style presents a possibility because younger people come a younger population and they think it can be applied on the european level as well maybe to say that the refugees can be awful for revitalisation of want. And what it shows is that the real change can be done on the municipal level and that maybe radical politics of the 20th century is not on the Supreme National International Level but on the local level. Weve seen radical movements in big cities and a compassionate mayor in a small town. But we even begin to bring about change on the scale europe needs will require new and radical thinking in a major city. Spains 2nd largest city is not run by parts alone or in carmel a radical quality of around mental and housing activists. 2 years ago that the law was attempting to stop people being evicted from their homes. That ran into a little bit emotional was the fear that amanda on the show one of the time but the 2nd i dont know but open going and going and must because of the. Many more than in the only question got to go. After kitchell millers immunization if he feels that there is a lid. That secular cannot prepare the augusta. But i would like it and i must enlist i know its by no. Now when she speaks up for a family who have been a week that she does so as the mayor of puts on what you know. They will feel much just the most of the hour but im probably that you could manifest getting their morning nothing this is the worse it is the best it was and if you see and they dont worry about it if it were at one of the Richest Woman that is going to try to be in that or knows that its not they dont mean yours but can such radicals run a large and complex 21st Century Global city of nearly 2000000 residents. Every year over 7000000. 00 tourists the center and barcelona they spent over 13000000000. 00. But their input is now so huge theyve become one of the problems facing new politicians like that peter mares about the settled. This is the battle on it which is one of the most popular neighborhoods saw for barcelona. It used to be neighborhood the fisherman. Well one of the problems were having here is that the prices of houses. Have started to increase and many people are being forced to leave the neighborhood. Here we used to have a squat house its called community here called. Which means thousands of houses for everyone. In this courthouse used to leave our actual mayor and some members of the government she was a squatter really yes here and now. That we are in the government of the of the city council we will have operatives here and thats what were trying to foster in comparative how seeing new forms of tenancy and hearing of us in on it what weve been doing is weve been forcing banks to negotiate with the city council to give us you know a buildings empty buildings to. Just go to have them for social rental. And thats very important i mean we dont depend on bonds because we havent shared our campaign with banks and thats important because youre free from banks and that gives you a certain margin to negotiate with them you know well this is one of the 1st buildings we bought when we when we came to power and this is a building that we are rehabilitating now i mean its not easy because we as a city council we dont have all the legislative power to the way everything we can to change the city from one today but we are also putting pressure on the on the Regional Government on the Central Government to change the laws and if we dont have pressure on the streets there are many changes that cannot be done you would think that you see because the. Subject was both of these issues would like to see more political just we. Will not only need pressure but we need to form subform. And i say sure you have to organize them and walker operatives they have to produce in a different way they have to conceal in a different way and we assume the ministration going to be an afterthought we have to told to go along with them but its still a demonstration we go there with the democratic revolution. So is this what happens when the people take over the palace and barcelona town hall is a palace. Im going to meet the meritless. Do you think these model of parts alone up but also something which we could call the rebel cities its not only barcelona it is now this if youre naples out of wars and so on i could be a model for europe as such in the sense that going from bottom up from the municipal from the local level we could come to a National Level and even change your role on these transnational International Level in a moment a case is then look at the got going Arsalan Espana is unable go back yes and in and. They likely see the light in the grass here for a man is the unifying people as regards latin as in the market at the guy and i know i see on a lot if were in the field then were not going to go in. And spot n. C. R. And i may make it a. Pretty but i dont get any more 2nd center and thats going under skewer isnt this that lame in some idea that upper left him dont last you like this its one of many stuff you must have got and theyre going to guess how much of what i want to put in the dollars not enough this put them out and what theyre saying about in the end there are many that are not into this scale caregivers effective i meant it would not by say that i found that their last court useless international or get him or said or not only i only get it most there so but i thought when i mean i want to feel that i may not get an email address the other semi us National Matter most in the last i said look what the solution. For them. So maybe it will be a network of cities like barcelona 2 where people finally feel represented because the city is close enough to the people to be held accountable yet powerful enough to make a difference to their lives. But on my journey ive seen how the financial forces colonizing europe have captured nation states and even the European Union so maybe its nice to suppose such movements can make a difference. Or maybe theyre judging. Her she looked over history as a movement that have achieved something it consistently appeared to show in that they didnt achieve their goals right away and were beaten back but they left a regime and a legacy from which leaned forward and nations will be cruel here so lets not dismiss those who are brave enough to be optimistic so what we have seen with the socalled arab spring is that its not enough talk of bias where you have to be able to create a Permanent Organization even if it means new Political Parties but which wouldnt be where to go but which would come in take integrate precisely the experience of the patients and be aware that all busy of europe but also the world is watching what is happening in place thanks. Hello seem pretty windy recently were stormy really from tasmania up through victoria parts of New South Wales Sydney Airport has been effected and the active frontal systems have not stopped yet at the forecasters takes us beyond what the satellite shows suggests rather less wind at least in sydney youngs on tuesday but its still cloudy with the onshore breeze kavi a 13 in dull skies i think in melbourne but the same weather and hope obviously is better impose it off and better in person or in the winter and between tuesday and wednesday one system goes the next one swings in its mostly going to be rain but it heights weve got the potential for some snow in the victorian out more especially i think though in new zealand in fact its become wet and windy as are a couple of it objectively for the weather in the next 2 days this is one system as you can see so thats whats actually happening take a little bit further east it looks fairly wet and still windy both the north on the south island its new be a brief window i think to system one and system 2 which comes into play during wednesday and after that it cotton stands up to. The team are also honored with a downing street reception. U. S. President donald trump is refusing to back down despite growing criticism of his racially charged tweets against 4 Democratic Congress women instead hes calling on them to apologize to america and israel but what he described as the foul language they have used and the terrible things they have said he accused them of being antisemitic and anti america as they should storm began at the weekend when he attacked the 1st time congresswoman in tweets widely condemned as racist he said they originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe and they should go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested place places from which they came. 3 of the 4 women hes thought to be referring to were born in the u. S. And the other arrived as a child refugee a White House Correspondent can really help it reports these are people that in my opinion hate our country despite widespread outrage and accusations of xenophobia u. S. President donald trump on monday escalated his twitter tirade against 4 Democratic Congresswoman from diverse backgrounds arguing they should return to where they came from if youre not happy here then you can leave so far as im concerned if you hate our country if youre not happy here you can leave trumps comments follow a series of tweets sent over 2 days attacking Democratic Party representatives alexandria cast your cortez of new york and omar of minnesota where she did to leave of michigan as a on a presley of massachusetts of the group only omar is foreign born but all are u. S. Citizens democratic House Speaker nancy pelosi and else to resolution condemning trumps tweets as one of the Congress Women fired back he relies on Racism Division and anti immigrant sentiment to consolidate power because he does not of this have it as a division for the future of america Congressional Republicans were slow to condemn when senator charged tropp crossed a line another one of the few black republicans in congress accused of using racially offensive language but another Top Republican senator defended trumps attacks on the Democratic Congresswoman their socialist they are anti semitic they stand for all the things that most americans disagree with democrats want Republican Leadership to condemn trump if youre saying to yourselves well he got us our big tax cut well hes taking regulations off. Big corporations well he pulled out of the paris accords we have to go along with this racism youre making a deal with the devil one analyst argues all this is part of trumps reelection strategy and the president believes that he got elected because he talked about the war he talked about the immigration he talked about the muslim being and so what were seeing is donald trump 2. 00 for his part donald trump denies any racial animist boasts of his record of lowering unemployment to take it literally among people of color and despite the shock of millions who abhor Donald Trumps latest statements there exists in the United States millions more who support the president s attacks kimberly helped at al jazeera the white house is going to have to give her his own day in washington d. C. So this controversy is nowhere near dying down away expecting to hear from the before congresswoman soon on way. We are all 4 of them are going to be holding a press conference here should be happening momentarily at the capitol to respond directly to President Donald Trumps tweets not only on sunday but then him doubling down on it as you just heard there from a colleague kimberly how could doubling down on it on monday this is a controversy that is certainly not going away and i think it shocked a lot of people here in washington that the president basically defended what he was saying and we even went even further saying that the congresswoman they are the ones that should be apologizing not only to the United States but to israel but also to him personally as well so this is clearly escalated far beyond any one could have ever imagined on sunday in these congresswoman all expected to address the media here momentarily will there be offering more of their. Analysis or just giving more of a response directly to the president United States now in terms from the Republican Party its been a pretty muted response theres been 2 republican lawmakers in congress that have tweeted out that these comments by the president were quote unquote racist but beyond that the Republican Party has been pretty quiet here in washington. Congressional leader Mitch Mcconnell from the senate no reaction from him most of the leadership of the Republican Party simply has been very very quiet want not wanting to say anything just not wanting to touch this whatsoever despite multiple requests from journalists all over for some sort of reaction of course from the democrats much different as you mentioned there nancy pelosi is going to be pushing through in the congress in the house of representatives build a twitter resolution i should say condemning President Trumps tweets as xena phobic that should be happening in the next day or 2 and the calculation is you mentioned the Republican Leadership hasnt really said in the about this i mean have they been doorstepped of people kind of pursuing them for a line on this so is it is it just ok for them to kind of clam up on it. Yeah well this is a travel day for congress so a lot of the Congress People were out in their districts throughout the country traveling back to washington today but a lot of them have been here and yes there are all sorts of journalists at the capitol that have been doorstepping the congressmen and congresswomen as theyve been passing through the capitol the ones that are here in washington anyway and theyre just simply saying. No reaction to it im focusing on Something Else im not going to comment that the republicans when trump tweet something very controversial a lot of Times Republican leaders and even just regular congresspeople lawmakers theyll just say oh i dont want to respond to all of trumps tweets i dont want to waste my time on this thats the general line the hear from a lot of republicans but i think thats just not flying this time i mean these are very and send incendiary tweets and comments that the president is making very racially charged and theyre just not wanting to comment about it but eventually he this is not going to go away and theyre going to be questioned about it without a doubt its something they cant run away from and i think thats why you saw the president today on monday basically because he was not getting any pushback from any Republican Leaders he basically doubled down on it and even said you know i think a lot of people even agree with what i was saying in my tweets thats what the president said on monday so listen as as as lawmakers and come back to washington today and as sessions get underway tomorrow on tuesday this certainly is something that is not going to go away they will be continued to be questioned on this givers on day thank you very much indeed of course will bring you that News Conference as soon as it happens. A u. S. Customs official say 62. 00 current and 8 former Border Patrol employees are under investigation for in the revelation of social media posts mocking migrants and politicians they surrender enquiry to push that surfaced in a secret Facebook Group the messages questioning the authenticity of the images showing a dead migrant father and trial. On the banks of the Rio Grande River also depicted crude doctored images of alexander your cortez as we heard to be vocal in their criticism of trumps immigration policy. Mexico has rejected the new asylum restrictions announced by the u. S. Which aimed to stem the flow of migrants arriving at its southern border mexicos foreign minister says his country will not become a dumping ground for Asylum Seekers the new rules say any migrant to is passed through another country 1st and did not ask for asylum there will be ineligible for asylum in the u. S. And they would leave hundreds of thousands of Central Americans traveling through mexico unable to seek asylum in the u. S. Meanwhile guatemalas Constitutional Court has blocked president jimmy morale is from signing a deal with washington to make it a safe 3rd country for Asylum Seekers. Manner up or joins us live from mexico city so a bit of pushback coming from on this. Thats right lauren that seems to be the reaction here in mexico both pushback and a reiteration of what mexicos immigration policy is that change that were hearing from the United States for the trumpet ministration to want to change the asylum laws that will by the way go into effect on tuesday makes it so that anyone thats traveling through a 2nd country on their way to the United States will be denied that asylum application so as an example a migrant traveling outside of honduras traveling through guatemala later traveling through mexico would automatically be denied asylum or is asylum or her asylum request when entering or trying to enter the United States through its southern border of course there will be a legal pushback to this were already hearing this sort of rhetoric from mexican Officials Saying that this is not mexicos policy saying that they do not agree with this decision by the United States mexico cannot be forced to adopt a policy that requires mexico to to house Asylum Seekers that have been denied asylum requests in the United States this is something that mexicos foreign minister marcello but has received has said in the past adding that the only way that mexico could adopt the quote unquote safe 3rd country designation is if the countries legislature designates that and decides to adopt that thats something that hasnt happened and something that the foreign minister has said is not going to happen ill add that marcello abroad the foreign minister says that mexico does not agree with this decision by the United States that mexico will not be changing its asylum laws and its immigration laws to accommodate for this change in u. S. Policy and more importantly this is something that is not going to reduce the migrant numbers that weve been seeing this change in policy applies to Asylum Seekers this does nothing to address the root causes of migration again which are poverty extreme violence and political corruption in countries in Central America such as wonderous as well as what a model and mission got out of that how significant is the Constitutional Court move on that issue. This is another one of those instances where these unilateral decisions by the United States only applies to rules in the United States this is not something that can. Cover the region in general this is something that applies only to the United States the ruling in the in in guatemala that will not allow guatemala to become a safe 3rd country sort of parallels whats going on here in mexico for mexico to acquire that designation of a sort of a safe 3rd country it requires it requires the agreement from mexicos legist legislature so its something that that may be significant only in guatemala but something that certainly has repercussions across the region in europe and i thank you very much indeed. Coming up on this news hour from london. Ive been vilified. To. The tune of. South africas former president tells an inquiry corruption allegations against him were a conspiracy to remove him. Former South African president jacob zuma has told a corruption inquiry that he had been vilified by enemies plotting to bring him down he also denied ever breaking the law in his dealings with the group has a wealthy indian family implicated in an influence peddling scandal harm to us or has more from johannesburg. This doesnt happen often in africa a former leader appearing before a corruption inquiry more than a year after he was forced to resign so that because former president s jacob zuma is responding to allegations he allowed people close to him to plunder state resources and influence government appointments he says hes a victim of a conspiracy ive been a subject of. Talk in this country for. More than a decade. Ive been vilified. Alleged to be. The king of. Corrupt people the most corrupt. Ive been. Given every other may and that never. Responded to those zuma admits the gupta is the business man at the center of an influence peddling scandal but he and the group has say they did nothing wrong but many want to help to account for his suspected role in state corruption theres a much broader issue of corruption that isnt just around him and what was going on but the issue was that he was a man who was at the very top of governments who allowed himself to be upset by these elite interests. However not everyone believes hes guilty jacob zuma is still believe a lot of influence his friends are in top to say you know what is our only. Congress and according to our somewhat is this a lot of whats at stake there is politically motivated i. Believe enemies are trying to end any remaining influence he has got 6 on a fishing expert will tell you straight to a News Conference tomorrow morning marlene and morse neighbors we are grateful for your solidarity your encouragement and your support in the face of the most recent zina phobic bigoted remarks from the occupant of our white house i will always refer to him as the occupant as he is only occupying space is not embody the grace the empathy compassion the integrity that that office requires and that the American People deserve. That being said im courage the American People and all of us in this room and beyond to not take the bait this is a disruptive distraction from the issues of care concern and consequence to the American People that we were sent here with a decisive mandate from our constituents to work on everything from inducing the cost of prescription drugs to addressing our Affordable Housing crisis to ensuring that the American People have more than Health Insurance but health care more recently thanks to the partnership of chairman alija cummings and the advocacy of myself and a coalition of advocates have worked with for decades we helped the 1st hearing on childhood trauma. And sitting in that hearing as we heard about the many manifestations integrations of childhood trauma in the wake of the Public Health crisis an epidemic that has gun violence in the wake of p. T. S. D. In the away of those battling Substance Abuse disorder and a host of other things it was impossible not to think of the trauma that is being inflicted upon children every day at our border at the end of the day if we improve the conditions of children in a cage they are still in a cage and we are viscerally vigorously and fundamentally opposed to the criminalizing the vilifying the mass detention and deportation of migrant families who are simply doing what is their legal human right and that is to seek asylum in the tradition of who we say we are as a country a beacon of light and hope and of refuge. This is simply a disruption and a distraction from the callous chaotic and corrupt culture of this administration all the way down we want to get back to the business of the American People and while we were sent here reducing the cost of prescription drugs addressing the Public Health crisis is an epidemic that is gun violence addressing the racial wealth gap and yes making sure that families Stay Together i also would like to just underscore the fact that despite the occupant of the white house attempts to marginalize us into silence please know that we are more than 4 people we ran on a mandate to advocate for and to represent those ignored left out and left behind our squad is big our squad includes any person committed to building a more equitable and just world and that is the work that we want to get back to and given the size of this squad and this great nation we cannot we will not be silenced and now ill invite representative omar to offer a few words as well thank you congresswoman anna presley this country was founded on the radical idea that we are created equal and endowed by our creator with. Inalienable rights and yes we have a long way before we fully live up to those values. It is for this reason precisely that we have to take action when a president is openly violating the oath he took to the constitution of the United States and the core values we aspire to as Marsa Luther King said all we say to america is to be true to what you say on paper i believe this is a bit of it all moments in our country the eyes of history is watching us right now the president is carrying out mass deportation raids across this country in each one of our districts right now the president is committing human rights abuses at the border keeping children in cages and having human beings drinking out of toilets this president who has been credibly accused of committing multiple crimes including colluding with Foreign Government to interfere with our election this is a president who has overseen the most corrupt administration in our history and pursued an agenda to allow millions of americans to die from a lack of health care while he transfers millions of dollars in tax cuts to corporations this is a president who has said grabbed one man by the pussy this is a president whos called plaid black athletes sons of bitches this is a president who has called black people who come from black and brown countries shitholes this is a president who has equate it neo nazis with those who protests against them in childs failed. This is a president who has openly violated the very value our country aspires to uphold equality under the law religious liberty equal protection and protection from persecution and to distract from that he is launching a plainly racist attack on 4 duly elected members of the United States of house of representatives all of whom are women of color this is the agenda of White Nationalist whether it is happening in chat rooms or its happening on national t. V. And now its reached the white house garden he would love nothing more than to divide our country based on race religion gender orientation and or immigration status because this is the only way he knows he can prevent the solidarity of us working together across all of our differences the only way to prevent us confronting the problems our countrys facing whether it is Health Care Climate change student debt or unless wars this is his plan to pit us against one another this is how he can continue to enrich his friends and distract us from the detrimental policies that his administration is pushing for so we can either continue to enable this president and report on the vial of garbage that comes out of his mouth or we can hold him accountable to his crimes we can continue to turn a blind eye of the multiple crimes hes accused of we can stand while he violates peace peoples basic human rights. And the responsibility the responsibility that his administration has for the deaths of children on our border or we can take action i have not mate impeachment central to my election or my tenure but since the day that i had gotten elected i had said to people it is not if he will be impeached but when so it is time for us to stop allowing this president to make a mockery out of our constitution its time for us to impeach this president so now were going to have. Andrea ocasio congresswoman elect real cost of court. Good afternoon everyone. Ill try to keep things as brief i guess as i can who knows when i get on a roll right. When i was a little girl my father took me to the reflecting pool here we were on a road trip from new york to florida to visit family and ive told the story before but it was my 1st time ever were visiting washington d. C. And it was my only time visiting washington d. C. For years if not decades and he rested me on the side of the reflecting pool and had my toes dipped in the water and he had me look at the Washington Monument had me look at the capitol had me look at the entirety. Of the capital of our of our great country and he looked at everything and he pointed to all of it and he said this belongs to all of us this belongs to you and it belongs to me and so the 1st note that i want to tell children across this country is that no matter what the president says this country belongs to you and it belongs to everyone and today that notion that very notion was challenged this weekend that very notion was challenge so i am not surprised when when the president says that 4 sitting members of congress should quote go back to their own country when he has authorized raids without warrants are thousands of families across this country i am not surprised that he used that uses the rhetoric that he does when he violates International Human rights and takes thousands of children away from their families i am not surprised that he has turned our Public Education system under the leadership of betsy de vos into a cash cow to enrich himself and his friends i am not surprised when he corrupts via the secretary of transportation i am not surprised at what hes doing but i also know that were focused on making it better because we dont leave the things that we love and when we love this country what that means is that we propose the solutions to fix it we love all people in this country and thats why we believe health care is a human right we built we love all children in this country and because we do thats why we fight for education for all children through college and so well stay focused on our agenda. And we wont get caught slip them because all of this is a distraction its a distraction from whats most important and from our core values as american citizens i gotta hand it over to receive it. Thank you so much thank you to my sisters in service thank you all so much for being here as we all know the recent tweets and words from the president are simply a continuation of his racist as you know phobic playbook we cannot allow these hateful actions by the president to distract us from the critical work to hold this Administration Accountable to the inhumane conditions at the border that is separating children from their loved ones and caging them up in the legal horrific conditions i represent the 3rd poorest Congressional District in this country one that is made up of working people who have been targeted by this administration and their actions and words are hurting them today i was elected to fight for them fight for the 13 Congressional District they sent me here to congress to fight back against the corporate assault and the corruption in our country this means supporting an impeachment inquiry of this president and his actions by the ministration and his appointees sadly this is not the 1st nor will it be the last time we hear disgusting bigoted language from the president we know this is who he is and we know that he and his administration are constantly engaged in actions that harm residents and American People in our country many members of congress have called for his impeachment because of his utter disregard and disrespect of the United States constitution and despite this and other many attempts to distract us i remain focused we remain focused on holding him accountable to the laws of this land and the combo to the American People are her urge house leadership many of my colleagues to take action to impeach this lawless president today and now i will take 2 or 3 questions mary and go 1st. Youve been listening to a News Conference there from the food Democratic Congresswoman who were told to go back to where theyd come from by President Trump in a series of tweets over the weekend and they have been hitting back according his remarks xenophobic bigoted racist. Quote to an agenda of White Nationalists is what they talked about and they said it was time to a ph this president lets bring back in. Washington d. C. Theyve suddenly hitting back a new onset in terms of the way. They really are and i dont think they were expecting or even really wanting to hold this press Conference Today on monday but i think they felt obligated to given that President Donald Trump has really doubled down on monday after his claims on sunday too that they should go back to the countries they came from even though 3 of the 4 were born in the United States so you heard basically a couple things here in the last few minutes you heard from aiyana presley the 1st speaker there the black woman congresswoman from state of massachusetts she was basically saying were going to focus on the bigger things were going to focus on health care were going to focus on prescription drugs issues these are the issues that really matter to the American People she said these this is what we were sent to washington to work on but then you also heard from you omar the congresswoman there from the state of minnesota she basically took a little bit different tack she basically right after the president attacked him or probably attacked isnt the right word but i would say she really pointed out all of a laundry list of all of the president s. Comments derogatory comments whether it be towards black people people from other countries so she really want right after the president no Uncertain Terms and finished by saying the time is now to impeach this president this is something that weve heard from several members of congress for a long time now but ultimately that decision up theyre going to try to this congress is going to try to impeach. This president will ultimately fall to nancy pelosi and so far nancy pelosi the speaker of the house has said she does not want to go down that path at least not not yet well see if that now changes or not so what you heard here was very much a defense by all 4 of these women defending themselves defending the country defending i think their their constituents that sent them to washington and also attacking this president in no Uncertain Terms and its an important point now as this press conference was going on to no surprise perhaps donald trump is tweeting and i think its just important to to say hes again attacking them he says we will never be a country of socialists or communists if you are not happy here you can leave it is your choice and your choice alone this is about love for america certain people hate our country the president tweeted as these 4 women were speaking he said they presumably the for congresswoman are anti israel pro alqaeda and comment on the 911 attack quote some people did something radical left democrats want open borders drugs crime Human Trafficking thats just part of what the president tweeted exactly as these for congresswoman were speaking there so this is quite frankly no other way to put it this is gotten pretty ugly now and this is in turn into really uncharted territory here in the United States i think its important to point that out weve never really seen Something Like this accusations of racism coming from a president and then for Congress Women having to defend themselves against these claims by the president and the president just simply doubling down on it every reason to thank you very much indeed. Can a republican political strategist and former white house aide to president george h. W. Bush he joins us live from philadelphia. What do you know so whats on the situation i mean why have no Senior Republicans condemned the language used by trump about these congresswomen for a number have a certainly the congressman will hurt from texas has senator pat toomey has senator rob portman the list is starting to grow of republican republicans in the house and senate who say they do not like what the president said they do not agree with his tweets and some of them even using morse morse and more Strong Language language condemning the president senator Susan Collins from maine and some others but you will find that many many more republicans will probably be silent this matter especially if their districts are strong trump districts because at the end of the day all politics are local and and most members of congress are concerned with being reelected to their their districts i mean one of the a congresswoman i know ma said she believes that this is a pivotal moment. Do you think that it is the case that this is this particular moment is going to change the way america thinks about racism. This is been a difficult journey for the United States the last several years with regards to the issue of race weve had a number of incidents and United States that have brought this to the forefront and and yet and still i think for the president he sees it as an opportunity to galvanize his base of support politically and and this kind of language in the passes as emboldened for the most part at least. Strengthen his his base of support so given some of the recent polls that have come out this is likely a move to get his base excited and and to galvanize is based somewhat and to help draw a line in the sand between his supporters and people who dont support him yeah i mean you talk about his base and so on but presumably mostly i mean you talk to a few republicans use it weve commented on this but never seen you want them have they the Republican Party become institutionally racist in that in that if you are incapable of calling out the kind of language that other for need is for instance a promise to read a maze that it was unacceptable but theres no kind of no equivocation as to whether the language was acceptable or not from people like treason may surely have something that the Republican Party needs to address if it can carry own power. Well it should one black remember member of the u. S. Senate senator tim scott spoke out strongly against these statements saying that they were indeed racist and of course that it really is a matter of where you sit obviously if youre an africanamerican as i am in a republican youre not pleased by the statement and you would say that those statements are racist and not befitting a president but clearly for many other republicans the center for montana for instance who came out and said that he stands with the president 100 percent and backs is day 100 percent for him i think it for many others its its about politics at the end of the day and keeping their base support and not angering the trump base of their support in their were in their districts or their states so i think many of them are just waiting for the for the for this for those who are in states where it matters and they may be waiting for this to kind of blow over but the for those in states where they need the president s support they need the support of his supporters i did get reelected theyre not going to theyre either going to say nothing or theyll end up coming out and supporting the president and at the end of the day this is certainly doesnt help Race Relations in the country but it certainly helps draw lines politically and the Republican Party which was the party of Abraham Lincoln the party that that had a president that freed the slaves and that brought in the 13th amendment that party. Isnt so so much in focus right now given the fact that these tweets are being made and and too many republicans are willing to be silent joe watkins thank you very much indeed for your thoughts appreciate your time thank you and european Foreign Ministers have met in brussels to discuss ways to bring the United States and iran back to the negotiating table to save the nuclear deal off the talks the e. U. Foreign policy chief insisted the deal is still alive is the latest diplomatic effort to address months of heightened tension between tehran and washington john mccain reports from brussels. Iran is still a good year away from developing a Nuclear Weapon we think there is still some closing thoughts more window to keep the deal alive one of the brokers of the original deal known as the j c peer a is clear about what must happen next we want to see going back to full compliance that is that has been in this in these years. But we notice that technically all the steps that have been taken and that weve had that have been taken reversible so we hope and we invite you to reverse the steps and go back to full compliance with the agreements but how much sway do european voices have although the strength of feeling here in brussels is pretty clear no amount of words from the e. U. Alone can compel the u. S. And iranian governments to negotiate with each other for vamp to happen there has to be a willingness on both sides to give ground and on that the view from the government into is clear. What one a big power that is a bully well then we have to stand up to it it must stop being a bully we have always believed in talks always right this hour right this moment if they stop the oppression they stop the polygynous if they lift sanctions return to the table return to logic we are ready so iran denounces the current u. S. Administration while maintaining its commitment to the nuclear deal it negotiated with the previous one and yet iran is also operating outside the terms of that deal in some areas for several weeks iranian you raney an enrichment has exceeded. Agreed limits all of which has emboldened the Trump Administration with the u. S. President recently warning officials in tehran they were treading on very dangerous territory which means that on the face of it this meeting on its own risks achieving little and all the while iran is technically in breach of its commitments under the Nuclear Agreement dominic a 0 brussels. Meanwhile the French Foreign ministry revealed that iran has detained a frankly rein in research or has more from paris or the French Foreign ministry has confirmed that 3 adult car franco irena in research are based here in paris has been arrested by iranian authorities now what the French Foreign ministry say is that they are in touch with a radian authorities in order to try and gain more information about adult karr about the conditions of her arrest and also make sure that she has full consular access which it seems has not been the case so far natl car is a researcher with paresis prestigious seal spore university she researches and writes about iran and Iranian Society and so theres still a question over when she was arrested thats still not clear there are some reports suggesting that she was arrested in june and i said he spoke to a professional colleague of hers also a research on iran here in paris who said that she had not had any news for radel car for at least 2 weeks so that suggests that perhaps end of june beginning of july maybe the sort of period of time in which this researcher was detained by iranian authorities annual monsoon rains have left a trail of devastation across several countries in nepal at least 67 people have been killed in flash floods and landslides she been a fresh reports from pastor district in the Southern Plains of nepal. Trying to 15th is Arctic Sea Ice state in a day to call attention to the meltdown taking place in the region Arctic Sea Ice is melting at a rate of 12. 8 percent per decade in june the extent of Arctic Sea Ice was the 2nd lowest ever recorded falling well below the 989 to 2010 average large animals like polar bears and boriss rely on sea ice to travel hunt and breed but the arctic ecosystem also helps out to grow and this feeds tiny organisms which form the base of the food chain for the arctic also acts as the earths air conditioner helping to regulate the earths climate and its reduction will have a major influence on the Global Climate. Lisa mccall is a scientist with Polar Bears International she joins us now from churchill in the canadian province of manitoba thanks for being with us so for polar bears in particular why is c. R. So important the main reason is that polar bears used as a platform to hunt their main prey seals and polar bears rely on seals as a food source because they need to eat that blubber which has all the calories that polar bears need theres no terrestrial food source that can sustain polar bear populations on land but all the bad numbers of bears are actually declining or theyre adapting. Yeah so there are 19 different subpopulations around the world and in areas where we have seen sea ice loss already we have seen populations decline and again thats a result of lack of habitat lack of access to food over time are going to see fewer healthy bears fewer cubs and fewer smaller population sizes what about the trend for the us is that something that can still be result reversed yeah the great thing about Arctic Sea Ice is that Research Shows theres no Tipping Point so if we can get the excess heat trapping Carbon Dioxide gasses out of the atmosphere we can get our climate back to a better functioning state and sea ice will rebound. What about i mean the part about this present been seen is that kind of the image that people associate with with the risks of Climate Change what else is important youve been studying about the sea ice. Yeah there are so many different creatures that rely on Arctic Sea Ice as you mentioned is to the ocean what soil is to the forest its growing the whole base of the food chain but rely on cas for protection from killer whales seals and walrus use it as a resting platform and to breed on and then humans also use it for transportation and access to food but also all around the world we rely on sea ice as our air conditioner it helps cool the whole planet without sea ice were all going to be affected and just give us an indication of for the part of me with stories of them ending up in the wrong place and. You know kind of ending up in towns looking for food what were the most dramatic things that you witnessed with with polar bears and that the problems theyre having. This human polar bear conflict is definitely something that has been quite dramatic we have also seen that in churchill manitoba where i am for example today yesterday there was a polar bear in town on someones back deck it got chased away safely around as fine but we do expect to see more polar bears coming in contact with more humans as they spend more time on land with less habitat so that is definitely an issue were concerned about into the future and he said nicole thank you very much indeed for sharing your thoughts today thank you our time for sport his fire. Lauren thank you so much englands cricket team had been sharing their world cup victory with the fans is a nation celebrates winning the title for the 1st time the day after their dramatic victory against new zealand in the final the players were meeting supporters at londons oval ground england had lost in all 3 of their previous appearances in the World Cup Finals ben stokes was a man of the match unbeaten 84. 00 and efforts in the super over was actually born in new zealand and moved to england with his family as a child. S. President after he refuses to apologize for his tweets actually. Take it down to 0 live from london coming up. The 1st case of a boner is confirmed in goma the main city in the eastern deol sea in what Health Officials are calling a potential game changer class. Ive been vilified. Of. South africas former president tells an inquiry corruption allegations against him were a conspiracy to remove him. And a state funeral in bangladesh as the nation mourns a 19 eighties leader with a controversial legacy. And of the 4 Democratic Congresswoman attacked by donald trump in comments widely condemned as racist have hit back at the u. S. President theyve accused him of using the race issue to distract from more pressing problems with his presidency and said hes promoting a White Nationalist agenda comes after trump refused to back down and went on the attack once again complete it has more from washington d. C. These are people that in my opinion hate our country despite widespread outrage and accusations of xenophobia u. S. President donald trump on monday escalated his twitter tirade against 4 Democratic Congresswoman from diverse backgrounds arguing they should return to where they came from if youre not happy here then you can leave so far as im concerned if you hate our country. If youre not happy here you could leave trumps comments follow a series of tweets sent over 2 days attacking Democratic Party representatives alexandria cast your cortez of new york omar of minnesota where she did to leave of michigan as a on oppressively of massachusetts of the group only omar is foreign born but all are u. S. Citizens democratic House Speaker nancy pelosi announced a resolution condemning trumps tweets as the congresswoman fired back this is simply a disruption and a distraction from the callous chaotic and corrupt culture of this administration all the way down i am not surprised at what hes doing. But i also know that were focused on making it better because we dont leave the things that we love and when we love this country what that means is that we propose the solutions to fix it we love all people in this country despite pushback from democrats Congressional Republicans have been slow to can down one senator charged crossed a line another one of the few black republicans in congress accused of using racially offensive language but another Top Republican senator defended trumps attacks on the Democratic Congresswoman their socialist they are anti semitic they stand for all the things that most americans disagree with one analyst argues that all this is part of trumps reelection strategy and the president believes that he got elected because he talked about the war he talked about the immigration he talked about the muslim by and so what were seeing is donald trump 2. 0 for his part donald trump denies any racial atomised both of his record of lowering unemployment to take it literally among people of color and despite the shock of millions who hoard Donald Trumps latest statements there exists in the United States millions more who support the president s attacks can really help that al jazeera the white house is going to care about is under in washington d. C. Is essentially escalating now isnt it. It really is and its really unprecedented to see Something Like this a president that is sent out such racially charged tweets but then instead of trying to back away from them actually double down on them as which we saw on monday and then having have a congresswoman come out and basically defend themselves and their accusations back at the president but to have this its really on president never seen anything quite like this before and these 4 congresswomen that were at the the forefront of trumps really incendiary tweets had to have this press conference just within the last hour where they said listen were going to focus on bigger issues were going to try to focus on what our constituents sent as here to do Health Care Climate change prescription bringing down the cost of prescription drugs but they also had to defend themselves they also it is basically say you know we love this country and theyre having to respond to President Donald Trumps tweets we heard from even omar one of the congresswoman that was accused by the president and she basically said the time is now to impeach this president and shes very forceful on that but impeachment of donald trump will ultimately fall to the house of representatives speaker of the house nancy pelosi and so far she has said she does not want to go down that path but clearly youre saying that this this back and forth that was really started by the president in his. Racially charged tweets on sunday this is something thats not going away at all its just escalating even more so when i mean you you mentioned the idea of impeachment that theres no particular key known where does this go from here beyond exchanges of insults or kind of further to it is still news whats the kind of whats the next step if people want to address the what appears to be that if they appear in the white house. Well there is the impeachment path that is still certainly open although nancy pelosi says she does not want to go down that path its. Clear if thatll change after after this but nancy pelosi has sent around a letter to her Congressional Colleagues saying that she is going to put together a. Censor. Censor vote to censor the president for quote unquote zina phobia but thats not really going to do anything to hold him that much accountable to more symbolic than anything else so really there is nowhere for this to go beyond that or impeachment alternately but trump seems as can really help its story pointed out just as you saw a few minutes ago i think this is something that donald trump sees as an election issue for him and it ties into not only this but border and migration issues that all helped get him elected president and thats essentially what youre seeing here is this probably is going to be a Campaign Issue thats going to go on for the next year and a half to the 2020 election david zone thank you very much. U. S. Customs Officials Say 62. 00 current and 8 former Border Patrol employees are under investigation for a revelation of social media posts mocking migrants and politicians most are under enquiry for post the surfaced in a secret Facebook Group messages question the authenticity of images showing a dead mother father and child on the banks of the rio grande the river it also depicted crude doctored images of alexandria because youre cortez whos been vocal in her criticism of trumps immigration policy. European Foreign Ministers have met in brussels to discuss ways to bring the United States and iran back to the negotiating table to save the nuclear deal after the talks the e. U. Foreign policy chief insisted the deal is still alive is the latest diplomatic effort to address months of heightened tension between tehran and washington from mccain reports from brussels. For more than a year the e. U. Has tried to preserve the Nuclear Agreement with iran devising schemes to help the tech run government reduce the impact of u. S. Sanctions but now that deal is in danger like never before we are looking to find a way to preserve the nuclear deal which we think is the best way of keeping the middle east as a whole Nuclear Weapon free. Iran is still a good year away from developing a Nuclear Weapon we think there is still some closing thoughts more window to keep the deal alive one of the brokers of the original deal known as the j c piro a is clear about what must happen next we want to see going back to full compliance that is that has been in this in these years. But we note that technically all the steps that have been taken and that we regret have been taken reversible so we hope and we invite you to reverse the steps and go back to full compliance with the agreements but how much sway do european voices have although the strength of feeling here in brussels is pretty clear no amount of words from the e. U. Alone can compel the u. S. And iranian governments to negotiate with each other for that to happen there has to be a willingness on both sides to give ground and on violent the view from the government into its clear. One a big power that is a bully well then we have to stand up to it it must stop being a bully we have always believed in talks always right this our right this moment if they stop the oppression they stop the polygyny and if they lift sanctions return to the table return to logic we are ready so iran denounces the Current Us Administration while maintaining its commitment to the nuclear deal it negotiated with the previous one and yet iran is also operating outside the terms of that deal in some areas for several weeks iranian you raney an enrichment has exceeded. In india on aljazeera. For some trick of nature these stem cells and white swan are on. Which this whole procedure is a bad. Joke like a bank but its more sophisticated than in the reality is that by a born american like us relations. It does matter that worldwide 350000000 people are affected by genetic disorders closed by faulty d. N. A. These genetic defects can lead to a variety of conditions like Cystic Fibrosis which leads to conic and also cite along the sections at the moment the system and here i am dr Elizabeth Healy in the u. K. To see how groundbreaking developments in gene therapy could one day transform the lives of People Living with genetic disorders. L. L. S. But not marry bond on a is 16 years old and was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at the age of one. Mary could tell me from your perspective what is your day like living with Cystic Fibrosis. Arum when i asked her i guess op take my interview rises office. And then harass again my x. Tears. And i asked you i know why now your eyes are failing. And theyre nasty to my physio if. I do spiral a. J. And theyre going to go out and cheerfully in their helping me. And then often ask to do another not be lies well. There are still more passes. And then yeah that only tastes oh so you have oh no so learn. The night. When mary was 1st diagnosed doctors thought she would only live until the age before. I decided i face im not ready until marriage or. Im not house tomorrow if i dont take the medication then of ok. Theres never a day goes by either and taught everybody forget the whole thing you know live it up i know this who was. Married to use me to the children that Cystic Fibrosis. To sell voice if i me one of them there were no passage i want to me or on one passage i want to them so now its a question isolating condition to hear yet because i was in a special when i was not a c. S. Patient and they were all right. So i only used to send little letters to each other or. Because they couldnt me if they said they saw me fly now last night at the moment mary is not really understanding everything about c. F. She she does now know that it is live show me that she does know that it cannot be kids. But things could be about to change scientists have proven for the 1st time ever that an experimental technique called gene therapy can improve the health of those with Cystic Fibrosis ive come into Central London to meet the doctors and the clinicians involved in the gene therapy trial and to Cystic Fibrosis. Western when they come. Out english. To stick fibrosis is as you know a genetically inherited disease parents who pass those copies on to their child and they have Cystic Fibrosis during the 1st year of life most babies will experience and lung problems and those relates to the buildup of sticky mucus within the airways and that sticky mucus attracts bacterial infections and the bacteria infections become chronic and they eventually cause quite significant lung scarring in the u. K. Theyre around 10000 people with Cystic Fibrosis at the moment on a registry about one in 22 of us is a carrier of the mutated gene most of us wont realise and about one in 2000 babies are born with Cystic Fibrosis the genetic nature of this and other conditions mean that treatment has focused on managing the sentence as best as possible but a new and experimental technique called gene therapy has sort replaced a faulty gene with a functioning one this is the largest and the longest duration gene therapy trial using a liquid formulation for Cystic Fibrosis that has ever happened in the 216. 00 patients completed the protocol and took at least 9 over the course of the year and it was in that group which was defined as being the group we were going to look at that we saw a Significant Impact on lung function at the end of the year. We can thank the patients and their families in earth because without patients like mary and her mother we just couldnt have completed this trial so were really grateful. These results would not have been possible without the perseverance of scientists who spent years developing the genes and. We started this program and its thought it would be very easy for patients to just in pair the gene freeze it and if it gets to the right area into the right cells in the lung it turned out that was much more difficult so how are you getting these healthy new genes into the areas and learn to do the job of the some teaching. For the try that is just finished but actually using a very symptomatic cure its a had it lifted but we did this we use the gene and we mixed it with this that this formed a smaller complex that complex it is then inhale it into the lungs of Cystic Fibrosis patients the dose of gene therapy that the trial participants received does not determine the correct the faulty Cystic Fibrosis d. N. A. But scientists are working on finding a longer lasting solution Clinical Trial results have been very encouraging but theyre not quite good enough to turn them into a treatment yet so we have plans for another trial where we get more there to some gene complexes and more frequently basically in addition to that we have to developed by arista just very very efficient in getting genes into the lungs do you think use you know fires might be more efficient than using the fatty possibly using them and we certainly think so based on all the evidence we have the virus is at least 100 forward more effective writing very exciting you know. These Success Stories represent a huge step forward for people. Matt did you notice any changes touring the course of the treatment i thought i had no more injury i didnt need well though charity marchand. Were christian tradition was the best of my praise still coming up also getting a little lot done. And how does that make you feel when you submit cheating so mean that i make sure you get to know i could die i die i could do that and i know i can do and the hype is that one day gene therapy will be approved for use and widely available to those with Cystic Fibrosis or those people that are studying and working to get this drug to work even better than it did its just pray they can get it done and they can get the funding and if it doesnt come soon enough mary shes helped other faithful if its not. The next generation of children born with Cystic Fibrosis in a city some are. Going to begin to say i sound all year how corning it speaks for seniors. Is that really the sermonize. Alymer back again. Things can stay yes. By the age of 85 nearly half of us will suffer from oxygen damage to the name which can lead to chronic pain and disability or perhaps because cartilage unlike other tissues doesnt have its own blood supply so heals very slowly and off the job when ive been here ashima japan to meet the surgeon pioneering new techniques in regenerating on the. Professor. Is one of the worlds leading nice surgeons and a revered figure in the world of Regenerative Medicine. And the professor to be his. Way ok thank you. Jay tech is an enterprise focusing on Tissue Engineering and has spent over 10 years commercializing professor archies research. Associate in. A law thats nice to see how you very welcome things are back. In 1001004 my doubts on paper wasnt published by swedish group. The swedish team had developed a way of regenerating cottage in a lab and then re injecting it in liquid form directly into the knee however there was a weak point all with their need. In order to solve this problem started to use the very same scare for the. Yes you can imagine that. The foot would be here coming up yes if that. Meniscus has no blood supply or if injury is the. Wrong we are blind to resect say what you can do with this Regenerative Medicine is to take the patients own cartilage from the same joint yes all the chain the confidence is essential company i see it does she engineer the cuts. And thats why were here yeah just half a gram of healthy cartilage is harvested it is then broken down with enzymes and then planted on a college in scaffold designed by professor ought to after just 4 weeks the cells will have multiplied to form a 4 square centimeter disc. The surgeon then makes a template of the lesion and uses that to harvest some perry all still tissue from the shin bone 2. This will be the cover used to hold the new cartilage in place so this is a model of someones potentially regenerated cartilage but the beauty of it being the patients own cells here is that its not rejected you know any medicine from the viewpoint i mean you know roger reaction hotel genus to shoot is a topic today this method has an almost 90 percent success rate and is considered a leading treatment fanie cartilage defects will what are the limitations of this can it be done better we need a larger scheme. That is invasive. Painful after surgery so less in this in technique is desire i have another new proceed youre using the magnetic. The goal is to devise a less invasive procedure. Much like the original idea of simply injecting the cartilage into the knee we inject so many serious. 10000000 serious we open our scottish in the knee joint. The you see the inject is still skeptical to inject cells blindly into the fluid nuptial they go all over and that made scarring so youd rather just close to where there is actually enjoy the right pinpoint targeting so how did you achieve that so i decided to use a small i am particle. To do that. Then come a stimson county public site small i am part of the action stem cells not the iron can fuck all this then they can be controlled that direction with a strong month then my lord thats the way the will magnetic force. From here theres an injection. Attaches to the defect the area is being channeled that point. By some sort of trick of nature the stem cells like to swallow are not honest which is this whole procedure hinges on that because then you can manipulate. That solution of stem cells with a magnetic field. So not having to cut open the knee in any way you can attach those themselves to just the area where the cottage is broken down the different area how do you make them stay there is there a magnet on the skin just 10 minutes from the outside of the ski you are really a minute then he physically they start to be under here to the lever to your ear its amazing the bolotnaya this is a brand new. Only here in hiroshima. Japan is aiming to be at the forefront of Regenerative Medicine and scientists are researching possible treatments for previously incurable diseases such as liver cirrhosis retinal generation and even outsiders but a crucial hurdle for many stem cell therapies is positioning the cells within the body this is led some to call professor archies magnetic breakthrough an important step forward in Regenerative Medicine in 2015 this footage was shot by Japanese Television when professor archie performed the 1st ever magnetic cartilage restoration the patient was a semi professional tennis player and her cartilage injury threatened to curtail her career. The procedure involved extracting some bone marrow to harvest stem cells after cultivation the few stem cells were injected and the magnets came out for the 1st time. A year on his back for a checkup. That morning and the. New. Sport. In the home of the q c i did it is. Going to. Get us to a company. I knew about i mean its a bit like the bullet train. In the. Yeah. I coat is ready for me which will reveal whether her wound has healed following the magnetic knee regeneration procedure. First of all shes almost there scrubbing here we go is reading. This. Trying to seize is a parasitic illness that is found mainly in the poor Rural Regions of central and south america and it is estimated that in excess of 10000000 people are infected with the disease. And im in bolivia to meet a woman who may just have found a solution to this devastating disease. Diseases caused by the parasite. Which is carried by the triad to mean dog known locally as. When an infected someone leaves behind infected feces scratching the bite grabs the infected feces and. Once in the body the parasites multiply and spread. The face of chalk lasts approximately 2 months causing my symptoms. Then goes into remission and it can be decades later before the chronic stage begins where the parasite attacked the heart and it just of organs which can cause intestinal and cardiac disorders progressive destruction of the heart muscle can lead to Heart Failure and sudden death there is no vaccine. But yes more sophisticated. In other words a new paint is an advance on previous insecticidal paints because the insecticides arm bedded within microcaps which slowly released them over 2 to 4 years containing the insecticides like this means that the concentration of chemicals can be lower and that several different pesticides which dont work if they are mixed together can be used ok so do i have to dress up like that yes ok lets turn this theres nothing id like to do more than put an oval on in 35. 00 degree heat. Hello and welcome im to big apology watching the news hour live from doha its good to have your Company Coming up in the next 60 minutes we can we will not be silenced for Democratic Women and the u. S. Congress hit back against charges by donald trump or called them anti american. Changes its asylum rules in a new bid to stop Central Americans entering from mexico. The reality is that a deal. Avoided develop a Nuclear Weapon. The Foreign Affairs chief says shes committed to the 2050 nuclear deal and called terror in significant. And why the former South African president jacob zuma says hes a victim of a conspiracy. 4 u. S. Congress women have responded sharply to by President Donald Trump on their patriotism and citizenship just a short time ago on a press a Alexander Ocasio cortez and others say the telly and a lot omar spoke to the media there among the highest profile members of the democrats new majority in the house of representatives all 4 reacted strongly to trumps tweets and comments this country was founded on the radical idea that we are created equal and endowed by our creator with. Inalienable rights and yes we have a long way before we fully live up to those values it is for this reason precisely that we have to take action when a president is openly violating the oath he took to the constitution of the United States and the core values we aspire to as Marsa Luther King said all we say to america is be true to what you say on paper as we all know the recent tweets and words from the president are simply a continuation of his racist and xenophobic playbook we cannot allow these hateful actions by the president to distract us from the critical work to hold this Administration Accountable to the inhumane conditions at the border that is separating children from their loved ones and caging them up in the legal horrific conditions. Well trump is refusing to back down despite the growing criticism of his racially charged comments about the women and said hes calling on them to apologize to america and israel for what he described as foul language they have used and the terrible things they have said hes accusing them of being semantic and anti america the latest storm began at the weekend when he attacked the 1st term congresswoman in tweets widely condemned as racist he said they originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe and they should go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came now 3 of the 4 women hes thought to be referring to were born in the u. S. The other one arrived as a child refugee are White House Correspondent kimberly how cat has more these are people that in my opinion hate our country despite widespread outrage and accusations of xenophobia u. S. President donald trump on monday escalated his twitter tirade against 4 Democratic Congresswoman from diverse backgrounds arguing they should return to where they came from if youre not happy year then you could leave so far as im concerned if you hate our country. If youre not happy here you could leave trumps comments follow a series of tweets sent over 2 days attacking Democratic Party representatives alexandria cast your cortez of new york and omar of minnesota where she did to leave of michigan and they on oppressively of massachusetts of the group only omar is foreign born but all are u. S. Citizens democratic House Speaker nancy pelosi announced a resolution condemning trumps tweets as the congresswoman fired back this is simply a disruption and a distraction from the callous chaotic and corrupt culture of this administration all the way down i am not surprised at what hes doing. But i also know that were focused on making it better because we dont leave the things that we love and when we love this country what that means is that we propose the solutions to fix it we love all people in this country despite pushback from democrats Congressional Republicans have been slow to can down one senator charged crossed a line another one of the few black republicans in congress accused of using racially offensive language but another Top Republican senator defended trumps attacks on the Democratic Congresswoman their socialist they are anti semitic they stand for all the things that most americans disagree with one analyst argues all this is part of trumps reelection strategy and the president believes that he got elected because he talked about the war he talked about the immigration he talked about the muslim being and so what were seeing is donald trump 2. 00 for his part donald trump denies any racial atomised boasts of his record of lowering unemployment to take it literally among people of color and despite the shock of millions who hoard Donald Trumps latest statements there exists in the United States millions more who support the president s attacks can really help at aljazeera the white house jennifer prodi lim is the cofounder of republican women for progress and joins us live from washington d. C. Good to have you on the program thank you very much for joining us why is it that we havent heard much from the Republican Leadership can we take this as an indication of the Republican Party why do these supporting trumps actions and his comments. Well this is you know this is no surprise republicans have been constantly tested under this administration and they consistently fail when it comes to leadership issues like this whats worse than their typical silence on trumps davis defensive language is how theyre trying to victim blame here and how theyre trying to talk about how these women they they dont agree with their political positions but you know this doesnt rise to racism or you know theyre silent or like Lindsey Graham theyre doubling down on this type of rhetoric. President trump has been pushing the boundaries of language racist language and comments like this since he started assoc candidates for for the presidency but weve seen very little pushback from republican members of the party and republican representatives why do you think that is that people are so opposed to. Condemning his comments or condemning his actions. Well as a as a republican i am constantly surprised and i probably shouldnt be by now about how theres always a lack of response when you know trump does these horrible things i think that you know and especially in this issue this isnt a trick question right like this is clearly racism trump is targeting minority women because they dont look like the rest of us and they and hes not targeting the with the white men in congress who are foreign born and you know at this point a lot of republicans are very comfortable with the administration and i think theyre just hoping you know after Trump Leaves Office theyll be able to pick up where that where they left off and it is it is a terrible thing that you know when these issues of racism when trump tries to divide us and frankly hes just trying to distract from whats happening at the border i think most people know that by now. But you know after trump believes i dont think that republicans in office right now are taking to heart the damage that has been done and they cant simply ignore what has done what trump has done to our country and what hes done to the Republican Party and thats something theyre absolutely going to have to answer for and the silence how does that make you feel about being a republican does that change your views about your party and your politics. Well in 2016 when we started republican women for hillary and now republican women for progress and we spoke out when trump was saying massage honest comments about meg and kelly and talking about mexican immigrants i just thought so many republicans would join us in rebuking these these horrible things trump was saying and you know i am still surprised that you know term continually does all of these things and we continue to hear silence from republican lawmakers or theyre doubling down or theyre trying to qualify their statements you know like oh well these representatives we dont agree with their political beliefs so weak its hard for us to come out and say that theyre racist you know as a republican it is despicable to me it is shameful and i am ashamed of our Republican Leaders and our Republican Leadership that they have let this go on for so long and created this environment where donald trump continues to feel like he can create that he can treat american citizens like this so our hope is that we can get more elected officials who can actually serve the people now youve been very outspoken in your views and youve been very clear about how you feel about the president and his comments that but ive been called racist why do you think so few others have spoken out on this. Well you know i think a lot of republicans are just hoping that people wont notice and that if they stay silent theyll be safe you know weve seen what trump does to people who disagree with him you know i think republic of republicans feel very safe in their jobs and just want to ignore the situation because it doesnt it doesnt affect them personally. And you know if youre representing your constituents you absolutely cannot keep doing that and you at we cant have the Republican Party continue like this so whats why oh why republicans like us and republican for progress why we keep speaking out is we dont want to lose the party to racists like this we dont want to lose the party to donald trump and we want to take back that party and create a new party that can actually stand up for immigrants stand up for people of color and women and minorities and you know we just arent seeing that with our current public and leadership and led by donald trump because they are owning all of the racism donald trump has brought to America Jennifer prachi limb from the republican women for progress thank you very much for joining us great to get your insights. Still in the u. S. The u. S. Has announced tough new asylum rules which aims to stem the flow of migrants crossing the Us Mexico Border the rule goes into effect on tuesday but its expected to be challenged in court now heres the plan it blocks migrants seeking asylum in the United States and if they have to travel through another safe country 1st without applying for asylum there however those who have been trafficked will be excluded from the ban the new rules are likely to affect Central American families who travel through mexico to seek asylum in the u. S. The announcement comes as a court in guatemala blocked president Jimmy Morales from signing a separate deal with the u. S. That would have designated the nation as a safe 3rd country mexico has also rejected the new u. S. Measures now shortly well get reaction from mine about apollo who is in mexico city but 1st we can cross over to gabriel all his own due who is in washington d. C. For us so gabriel what justification has the trumpet ministration given for implementing this. Well i would say its 2 things its practical and political practical the trumpet ministration is basically saying that that there are too many Asylum Seekers to primarily at the southern border and that the system is being overrun by asylum cases and that the courts simply cannot handle it all theyre also saying that by ending this what it will do as well is it will prevent people from what they say is a problem of people coming to the u. S. Through the southern border claiming asylum are trying to claim asylum but really just wanting to get into the u. S. For economic reasons for jobs and basically thats their in true way to the United States this is what the administration is saying or the practical reasons on why they need to do this but i think theres also without a doubt a Political Part of this component as well this all goes to immigration issues that was a main reason why donald trump was elected president because he said he would crack down on both legal and illegal immigration and i think that this will probably he feels play very well to his america 1st base as were a little over a year away to the 2022020 election in the u. S. And he thinks this will be a Good Campaign for his Campaign Issue for him as well where he thinks a lot of his supporters feel like yeah we do have too many Asylum Seekers in the United States and so i think that that trump probably sees this as a good political issue for his him as well and speaking of the wider public hows this now being received in the u. S. Not very well quite frankly the American Civil Liberties union one of the major human rights organizations here in the United States has already said theyre going to file a media at least a lawsuit against this and take this directly to court weve also actually heard from the u. N. H. C. R. United Nations High Commission for refugees that sent out a statement saying that they are very concerned about this as well saying that it could be a violation of International Law just the u. S. Law allows refugees to request asylum in the u. S. No matter how they got to the u. S. Or by what means so the laws are already pretty clear so this is probably going to be challenged in court for sure Immigration Rights groups and human Rights Groups are already saying theyre shocked by this because this will definitely affect more than 90 percent of the Asylum Seekers in the United States most of which come from Central America not all but most of which come from Central America and they make their claims after crossing the southern border into the United States essentially what this would do would cut that off completely and Rights Groups are saying that would force them to apply for it in their home country but the reason is theyre leaving there because they have fear so it would affect a lot of people gabriel from whos in washington for us we can now cross over to mexico city thats where men are standing by weve heard the reaction from washington whats the reaction there in mexico and how significant is it for the country. Theres been blowback from mexico certainly it has everything to do with the actual change in policy itself were talking about the asylum process changing were talking about Central American Asylum Seekers who will no longer be eligible for asylum when they make it to the u. S. Southern border and ill give you an example if you are a migrant from honduras or all salvator and youre making your way through what amala and then making your way through mexico that automatically makes you ineligible to apply for asylum in the in the United States according to this new change in policy now theres reason that there is a challenge from mexico right away and there will be other challenges legal challenges specifically because this is a change a unilateral change that the United States is making to a policy that it affects just about every country in the region the United States mexico as i mentioned before honduras guatemala as well as el salvador there is no agreement between the United States and mexico that forces mexico to house Asylum Seekers in the country this is something that would require a change made only by the Mexican Congress that has to be ratified by the Mexican Congress so that mexico could adopt a quote unquote 3rd safe country status that is something that the Mexican Congress has yet to do and something that the Mexican Foreign minister said is not going to happen hes also said that mexico does not agree with this decision that the United States is made that mexico will not be accommodating their own immigration and asylum policy to that of the United States and furthermore for the actual numbers of Asylum Seekers the likelihood that this will actually reduce the number of people seeking asylum in the United States is very unlikely its not doing anything this change in policy to address the root causes of migration which in Central America specifically are high levels of violence rampant political corruption and and political instability of course so pushback from mexico on this but lets lets go back in time a little bit where mexico has adopted some of the policies that trump past has requested from them that they have the desired effect that President Trump was hoping for and particularly in stemming the number of migrants. Around a month ago the United States had warned had threatened mexico with tariffs if they did not do enough that mexico did not do enough to stem the flow of migrants making their way north toward the United States mexico has made several concessions in that regard cracking down on the socalled migrant caravans doing more to apprehend migrants coming in through the southern border according to statistics from u. S. Agencies the number of migrant apprehensions are down we dont have the numbers from the Mexican Government to to compare but the numbers according to United States are down and President Trump has famously said that mexico is doing more than the democrats are in the United States to actually address the issue of immigration in the country however without addressing without having some sort of some sort of functional strategy to want to make people in Central America want to stay in their countries not want to flee there really is no no reason to think that there will be an end to the migrant crisis thank you very much in mexico city for us. Plenty more still ahead this news hour including. A when you threat from ebola in the democratic republic of congo as an infection is detected in a densely populated area. And slowing down a trade war with the u. S. Is one of the factors affecting chinas worst Economic Growth figures and years. Then Sporting Goods cricketers are honored up to the world cup victory all the details. Here appear in Foreign Ministers have called for dialogue between the u. S. And iran to try and save the 2050 nuclear deal the leaders held talks in brussels in an attempt to salvage the agreement which the e. U. Foreign policy chief insists is still alive dominic kane has this report from brussels. Iran is still a good year away from developing a Nuclear Weapon we think there are still some closing thoughts more window to keep the deal alive one of the brokers of the original deal known as the j c peer a is clear about what must happen next we want to see iran going back to full compliance that is that has been in this in this years. But we know its that technically all the steps that have been taken and that we regret having taken reversible so we hope and we invite you to reverse the steps and go back to full compliance with the agreements but how much sway do european voices have although the strength of feeling here in brussels is pretty clear no amount of words from the e. U. Alone can compel the u. S. And iranian governments to negotiate with each other for vamp to happen there has to be a willingness on both sides to give ground and on that the view from the government into its clear. When a big power that is a bully well then we have to stand up to it it must stop being a bully we have always believed in talks always right this hour right this moment if they stop the oppression they stop the belligerence if they lift sanctions return to the table return to logic we are ready so iran denounces the Current Us Administration while maintaining its commitment to the nuclear deal it negotiated with the previous one and yet iran is also operating outside the terms of that deal in some areas for several weeks iranian your anian enrichment has exceeded agreed limits. All of which has emboldened the Trump Administration with the u. S. President recently warning officials into how they were treading on very dangerous territory which means that on the face of it this meeting on its own risks achieving little and over while iran is technically in breach of its commitments under the Nuclear Agreement dominic aljazeera brussels. Its a policy fellow at the european leadership and thats where again leads the iran project which focuses on protecting the iran Nuclear Agreement and he says that despite the all the obstacles there are some signs of progress after the meeting the main thing that came out of this is that none of these countries are planning are really that dispute resolution backing as it is a part of the nuclear deal in terms of whether or not this meeting today or in recent days any of the statements that have come out of european officials or the or the capitals has shown anything different than what has been already stated over the past few weeks i havent seen anything that new the only positive development that ive seen is that the shareholder structure for instax which is the. Mechanism thats been created to trade nonsentient with goods such as today pharmaceuticals that has expanded now from 3 to 10 and now upwards of 17 to 20 governments and i think thats a great sign of confidence because these governments and gone to their companies and said is this mechanism something that you would use and all the countries that have signed up for it have companies that are ready to use it so that was a positive development. Former South African president jacob zuma has told a Public Inquiry into corruption that enemies plotted against him he maintains he never broke the law with a gupta say wealthy indian family implicated in an influence peddling scandal are with us or has details from johannesburg. This doesnt happen often in africa a former leader appearing before a corruption inquiry more than a year after he was forced to resign so that because former president jacob zuma is responding to allegations he allowed people close to him to plunder state resources and influence government appointments he says hes a victim of a conspiracy ive been a subject of. Talk in this country for more than a decade. Ive been vilified alleged to. The killing of. Corrupt people the most corrupt ive been. Given every other may and that never. Responded to those zuma admits the doctors the businessmen at the center of an influence peddling scandal are friends but he and the group has say they did nothing wrong but many want him held to account for his suspected role in state corruption theres a much broader issue of corruption that isnt just around him and what was going on but the issue was that he was a man who was at the very top of governments who allowed himself to be captured by these elite interests. However not everyone believes hes guilty jacob zuma is still believed. That his friends are in top to say you know what is not only. Congress and the. Waters theres a lot of what. Is politically motivated i. Believe enemies are trying to end any remaining influence he has 6 on a fishing expedition hope that somehow this is something that they could use like thats what is happening here if day of the year if there are real evidence of any wrongdoing he would have been in court. White house spotlights made in america products but are they enough to win a trade war. And why the end of the champion has more reasons to celebrate after returning home to romania are i will have the details. You could yesterday still see the center of circulation of what was barry is over arkansas but really the story is and always was the amount of writing this card represents the rainy area its tropical sourced rain so its still very heavy anything up to 200 millimeters can still fall on the Mississippi Valley and thats the problem area of course now the rain record talk itself as far north as tennessee maybe kentucky now with the case the next 2 days getting lighter but still falling on fairly sudden ground and then the picture probably changes from one of flooding which will still be there to increasing he particular at least seaboard 35. 00 in washington 30 in new york and humid with it that will be noticed there is some fairly frequent showers in the smaller arms of the caribbean recently and i think trinidad to probably pick up some rain in the next day or so but the bulk of the convective where the thunderstorms is heading towards the coast of honduras believe hes possibly southern mexico and thats the picture increasingly so during wednesday on that is we as cuba looking actually quite dry for a change and same is true for haiti and jamaica conversed you might well see a developing line of significant rain running through bolivia and peru for the not so much anymore in brazil. On counting the cost 3. 00 decades for the collapse of the soviet union russia gaging with africa to raise its political clout and we look at the economics behind so hes decision to buy the u. S. For an f. 35 Stealth Bomber counting the cost on a. Well again youre watching our desire and let me take you to our through our top stories this hour for Democratic Congress women say they will not be silenced by u. S. President donald trump the women were spawning to trumps comments telling them to go back home. Mexico and guatemala have rejected new measures by the u. S. To stop more immigrants from seeking asylum the new rules require migrants to seek asylum in a designated safe 3rd country 1st before trying to enter the u. S. And european Foreign Ministers have called for dialogue between the u. S. And iran in a bid to save the 2015 nuclear deal the leaders held talks in brussels says they tried to salvage the agreement which the e. U. Foreign policy chief insists is to live. Ok lets get more now and i want to part top stories and thats the new u. S. Rules on who can and who cant claim asylum in the u. S. Eleanor acer is the senior director of refugee protection at human rights 1st and joins us now live from new york thank you very much for joining us on the program this this new proposal basically raises the bar for applicants applying for asylum in the u. S. What proportion of new applicants are new immigrants will now be affected by this thank you dear for inviting me to join with join you today and talk about this new role this rule is not doesnt just. Try to make the standards higher it will be an insurmountable hurdle for many refugees seeking protection in the United States its a blatantly illegal attempt to rewrite the laws passed by the u. S. Congress to protect refugees from return to persecution. Now this proposal sounds very similar to whats known as the dublin regulation which is used in the European Union in which even norway is a signatory to which basically they say the u. S. Says streamlines asylum management and also stems people smuggling so is it really that off key to have it in the u. S. Absolutely u. S. Law is clear that refugees who come to our southern border can seek asylum this rule would try to ban a refugee with a well founded fear of persecution because they did not apply for asylum in a transit country where their lives would have been at risk or a country where they would have not been protected from return to persecution its totally absurd its also absolutely inconsistent with the u. N. Refugee convention in fact the u. N. High commissioner for refugees came out today with a statement expressing deep concern over this new rule. The acting homeland secretary has said that this initiative would quote help produce a major pull factor which drives irregular migration into the u. S. Can you see that. Migration into the us absolutely not all this is going to do is add to the chaos and confusion at the border and in our immigration system to trumpet ministration is really repeatedly refused to actually address the real problems that are pushing people to flee their homes if the administration actually wanted to reduce migration it would address the Rights Violations and the other conditions that are pushing people to flee in search of protection now youve testified before congress previously on the rights of refugees and Asylum Seekers do you think there is an argument to be brought forward to congress against this and if so what would that be. Well this rule clearly violates the laws created by congress i mean its in fact an attempt to simply rewrite through executive action laws enacted by our Congress Congress should not stand for that but you know more importantly there will no doubt be challenges to this illegal rule in the courts soon and i would expect the courts to halt this provision given how totally out of line it is with us law as well as with our commitments under the Refugee Convention you know but weve seen the trumpet ministration unilaterally impose certain laws or certain rules and that many have been opposed to are you concerned that this is one of those. Initiatives that will be put in place ahead of any any pushback from the democrats or from those human rights advocates so theres already been wide condemnation of this of this new rule and geas human rights organizations even the Un Refugee Agency came out expressing deep concern about this with members of congress have expressed concern this is really just a new low for the trumpet ministration this rule will really endangered the lives of refugees it will lead to their return to their countries of persecution it will ban refugees for not applying for asylum in countries where their lives are at risk this is totally absurd and totally illegal. From the refugee protection adds human rights 1st thank you very much for speaking to us ok to another of trumps key Campaign Promises thats increasing the number of manufacturing jobs he signed an executive order restricting what products can be classed as American Made share britain says more on this from washington d. C. For the 3rd year in a row dont trump announced a made in america day in fact this is now made in america week and he signed an executive order making that designation far more stringent aluminum and steel needs to be 95 percent made in america to be called american other products need to be 75 percent made in america the previous talk it was 50 percent to be made in america im told from the rise of manufacturing jobs that has occurred over the last several years and you know when i took office i was told by the Previous Administration that manufacturing jobs would be just appearing there was no way they said you need a miracle right you need a miracle well we have a miracle because we were up 600000 manufacturing jobs since the election. However even without an increase the number of drugs in the u. S. Is still around one 100000 or so fewer than before the 2007 recession economists fear that some of those jobs simply will never come back what they recommend is sustained investment in high tech high value manufacturing like for example Renewable Energy however this is a station seems far more interested in propping up the fossil fuel industry because its catastrophic Climate Change in additional little trumps rhetoric against china on trade how school some u. While chinas economy isnt being helped by the trade war with the United States growth in the 2nd quarter of the year slowed to a 27 year low it is now down to 6. 2 percent from 6. 4 percent in the 1st quarter and chinas all important to export trade fell thats despite tax cuts aimed at boosting spending to stimulate the worlds 2nd largest economy when he has more from beijing. Well the Chinese Government werent set out right but theres no doubt they will be concerned about some of the economic numbers that are coming out it wasnt all doom and gloom on the release of these latest figures there were some bright spots retail sales and industrial output both showed some positive signs in the 2nd quarter of the year industrial output in particular will be welcomed because that sick to had been struggling recently resulting in many factories around china laying off staff but its the overall trend in Economic Growth that has been falling that will be causing a lot of concern really since the end of 2012 its been declining with the odd reprieve along the way part of a global trend of course the Global Economy is slowing down and in fact many countries in and around the world would welcome would want to have some of the numbers that china is reporting right now but china of course needs to be looked at a little bit differently to most countries and around the world because of the remarkable Economic Growth that it has been through if we go back to the Global Financial crisis in 2009 even in that difficult time china didnt report quarterly growth below 6. 4 percent well were beneath that now so naturally that is going to be causing some concern both within china around asia and beyond and of course all this happening amid the trade dispute between china and the United States the latest trade statistics came out on friday as well showing that imports and exports are down and perhaps the most concerning thing is that we dont know when this trade war is going to end yes theres been a truce declared between the 2 president s meaning no new tariffs are being placed on each others goods but we still dont know when those face to face negotiations are going to restart. 2 Health Workers fighting ebola in the democratic republic of congo have been found murdered the killings in north kivu province follows several attacks on ebola clinics Health Officials are appealing for calm after the 1st confirmed case of the virus was discovered in the crowded eastern city of goma catherine soy has this report. Changing the rules the u. S. Unveils a new asylum policy aimed at limiting the number of sent. Americans arriving from mexico plus. The reality is that a deal has been avoided to develop a Nuclear Weapon. The e. U. Foreign affairs chief says shes committed to the 2050 nuclear deal and calls terror on speeches in significant. Ive been vilified. And theres 2. Of. Corrupt. And former South African president jacob zuma denies corruption allegations against him and says hes a victim of conspiracy. For you for cod democratic u. S. Congress women have responded sharply to attacks by President Donald Trump on their patriotism and citizenship they are among the highest profile members of the new house of representatives all for it reacted strongly to trumps tweets and comments this country was founded on the radical idea that we are created equal and endowed by our creator with in inalienable rights and yes we have a long way before we fully live up to those values it is for this reason precisely that we have to take action when a president is openly violating the oath he took to the constitution of the United States and the core values we aspire to as Martin Luther king said all we say to america is be true to what you say on paper. Well trump is refusing to back down thats despite the growing criticism of his racially charged comments about the women and said hes calling on them to apologize to america and israel for what hes described as foul language they have used and the terrible things they have said hes accuse them of being anti sematic an anti america this latest storm began at the weekend when he attacked the 1st term congresswoman in tweets widely condemned as racist he said they originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe and they should go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came 3 of the 4 women hes thought to be referring to were born in the u. S. While the other arrived as a child refugee are white house can really correspondent can really how could house more these are people that in my opinion hate our country despite widespread outrage and accusations of xenophobia u. S. President donald trump on monday escalated his twitter tirade against 4 Democratic Congresswoman from diverse backgrounds arguing they should return to where they came from if youre not happy year then you can leave so far as im concerned if you hate our country if youre not happy here you could leave trumps comments follow a series of tweets sent over 2 days attacking Democratic Party representatives alexandria cast your cortez of new york omar of minnesota where she did to leave of michigan and they are not presley of massachusetts of the group only omar is foreign born but all are u. S. Citizens democratic House Speaker nancy pelosi announced a resolution condemning trumps tweets as the congresswoman fired back this is simply a disruption and a distraction. From the callous chaotic and corrupt culture of this administration all the way down i am not surprised at what hes doing but i also know that were focused on making it better because we dont leave the things that we love and when we love this country what that means is that we propose the solutions to fix it we love all people in this country despite pushback from democrats Congressional Republicans have been slow to can down one senator charged crossed a line another one of the few black republicans in congress accused of using racially offensive language but another Top Republican senator defended trumps attacks on the Democratic Congresswoman their socialist they are anti semitic they stand for all the things that most americans disagree with one analyst argues that all this is part of trumps reelection strategy and the president believes that he got elected because he talked about the war he talked about the immigration he talked about the muslim being and so what were seeing. Donald trump 2. 0 for his part donald trump denies any racial atomised both of his record of lowering unemployment to take it literally among people of color and despite the shock of millions who hoard Donald Trumps latest statements there exists in the United States millions more who support the president s attacks can really help at aljazeera the white house jennifer priority limb is the cofounder of republican women for progress and she blamed the Republican Leadership for letting donald trump go this far. This is no surprise republicans have been constantly tested under this administration and they consistently fail when it comes to leadership issues like this whats worse than their typical silence on trumps davis defense of language is how theyre trying to victim blame here and how theyre trying to talk about how these women they dont agree with their political positions but you know this doesnt rise to racism or you know theyre silent or like Lindsey Graham theyre doubling down on this type of rhetoric you know as a republican it is despicable to me it is shameful and i am ashamed of our Republican Leaders and our Republican Leadership that they have let this go on for so long and created this environment where donald trump continues to feel like he can create that he can treat american citizens like this so our hope is that we can get more elected officials who can actually serve the people why republicans like us and republican for progress why we keep speaking out as we dont want to lose the party to racists like this we dont want to lose the party to donald trump and we want to take back that party and create a new party that can actually stand up for immigrant stand up for people of color and women and minorities and you know we just arent seeing that with our current public and leadership and led by donald trump because they are owning all of the racism donald trump has brought to america. And the u. S. Has announced tough new rules which aims to stem the flow of migrants crossing the Us Mexico Border the rule goes into effect on tuesday but its expected to be challenged in court the plan blocks migrants seeking asylum in the United States if they have travel through another state country 1st without applying for asylum there however those who have been trafficked will be excluded from the ban the new rules are likely to affect Central American families who travel through mexico to seek asylum in the u. S. The announcement comes as a court in guatemala blocked president giving him or others from signing a separate deal with the u. S. That would have designated the nation as a see 3rd country mexico has also rejected the new measures. Paula has the reaction from mexico city. There was pushback in mexico in response to that change in policy announced by the United States the asylum laws and ill give you we need to talk about the context here if you were a migrant traveling from Central America say hunter israel solved or making your way through guatemala and through mexico that automatically disqualifies you from being able to seek asylum in the United States under this new policy now theres a reason why theres so much pushback here in mexico on one end mexico the United States have no agreement that would force mexico to house Asylum Seekers thats something that mexico would have to ratify via legislation it would be up to the Mexican Congress to determine that mexico is to be designated a quote unquote safe 3rd country without approval from Congress Mexico is in no way obligated to adopt or accommodate to this new change in policy in the United States this is something that the foreign minister of mexico my sent abroad has said is not going to happen the foreign minister has also said that he does not agree with this decision by the United States and and in no way will mexico be changing its own immigration policies or its own asylum policies to accommodate for this new change in the United States furthermore this is one aspect of the migrant crisis that keeps getting brought up in this stemming the flow of migrants it being up to mexico to stem the flow of migrants thats the pressure that the United States has on mexico yet these policies do nothing to address the root causes of migration in Central America countries like honduras guatemala as well as salvator which are rampant political corruption widespread poverty and of course the high levels of violence plaguing these countries and other news here paean Foreign Ministers have called for dialogue between the u. S. And iran to try and save the 2050 nuclear deal that leaders how talks in brussels and an attempt to salvage the agreement which the e. U. Foreign policy chief insists is still alive dominant came reports from brussels. For more than a year the e. U. Has trying to preserve the Nuclear Agreement with iran devising schemes to help the government reduce the impact of u. S. Sanctions but now that deal is in danger like never before we are looking to find a way to preserve the nuclear deal which we think is the best way of keeping the middle east as a whole Nuclear Weapon free. Iran is still a good year away from developing a Nuclear Weapon we think there are still some closing thoughts more window to keep the deal alive one of the brokers of the original deal known as the j c peer a is clear about what must happen next we want to see iran going back to full compliance that is that has been in this in these years. S. And iranian governments to negotiate with each other for that to happen there has to be a willingness on both sides to give ground and on that the view from the government into is clear. All of which has emboldened the Trump Administration with the us president recently warning officials in tehran they were treading on very dangerous territory which means that on the face of it this meeting on its own risks achieving little and over while iran is technically in breach of its commitments under the Nuclear Agreement dominic aljazeera brussels. Irans foreign minister jobs or eve has told us media he does not believe washington is preparing for war i do not believe the president front wants war but i believe there are people around him who would mind do you think they have a service where you worry that they have more sway than the i think President Trump has been on the record that they are trying but i dont think theyll succeed because at the end of the day i think prudence will prevail people know that iran is a big proud country and we will not take a military attack likely. We have plenty more still ahead and tell you about a new threat from a ball in the democratic republic of congo which the World Health Organization is calling a warning. On in the monsoon rains have eased but the death toll is rising will be on the ground in the pot for the latest. However the most recent pictures of flooding in china have come from around the yangtze now from the satellite picture using the some disorganization in the frontal system this is it in these quite disorganized in fact is nowhere near the nx yaga but i think the trend is of the next to take the rainfall further north eventually taking hong kong out of there cloudy and rather close whether its still 35. 00 degrees with a change of wind direction i think will be telling thats generated by what could well be a tropical cycle or developing to the east of the philippines so a lot of rain still to come as funnels will hon possibly as far west as children do a little lesser down the food john gong so that is china lets just drift slow resize you know whats happening in the philippines luzon looks like big particularly when the same is true for the south mindanao and it will probably catch the sounds of vietnam in the north of the island of borneo it does mean we see from the satellite picture little is going on in indonesia there might be one or 2 big showers east to salou is a west papua but the dark green is where the heavy rain is it stretches back maybe into the southern part of thailand but you see the concentration is it still the philippines the clouds increasing further says bourne is dissipated but doesnt look very wet. Well those are the headlines well have more news after inside story thats next. This 65 metre High Mountain of rubbish in india symbolizes a rapidly expanding global problem what should countries do with their garbage and how can they reduce the amount they produce every year this is inside story. Teller im the star its become a problem of global proportions according to the world bank around 2000000000 tons of waste is produced every year and road leaders are struggling to figure out what to do with it all so that they buried recycle that was shipped off to another country we begin our look at the options an easterly india where they are fighting to contain a 65 nice and High Mountain of rubbish that gets larger every year and is about purana reports. A mountain of waste this is where 2000 tons of east duddies of rubbish is dumped every day youre not of out of your People Living around the side to say its affecting their lives obviously as you can see the smell of food is unbeatable if the wind blows towards us but its difficult to eat food at home it is such a mess here the rubbish dump doesnt just smell bad its also dangerous me time gas from the way sparks fires releasing toxic fumes. Began as a land for the 984 that reached its capacity needed 20 years ago like the engineered landfill it means that you will have a big hole which is dug out and that it is lined with no one for me and leos so that your doc think egypt of chemicals which comes out from garbage does not leak into the soil and cause Water Pollution but in gaza where there is no such thing trucks continue to dump rubbish here despite dollys government. Banning them after a part of the hell a collapsed 2 years ago killing 2 people. This is a cruel joke this is contempt of the people to sponsor one point to. The site they have installed for a day after the border. We ask the east Delhi Municipal Corporation why this is happening but because of the ignored. Us so we go on to new. Its estimated delhi produces 14500. 00 tons of waste every day the problem of waste isnt confined to the cities and rubbish dumps start around read. All of the rubbish produced daily isnt collected leaving it on the street and the space just because child he manages this recycling center and says waste isnt just the governments responsibility or that is i feel that resegregation should begin to talk if people start segregating reist then rest can be recycled properly and the direct consequence will be that garbage mountains like the one it wont be necessary at all the Municipal Corporation has started testing of recycling program in 3 areas this year they hope to talk to the rest of the region within one year. They also say theyll start clearing dasi put in september and some of its waste will be used to build a national highway elizabeth aljazeera east delhi. Well lets bring in our guests now in new delhi we have. He is the c. E. O. Of the council on Energy Environment and water in oxford we have Sharon George shes electric kill university who specializes in Green Technology and in hong kong via skype we have chia he is the director of the institute of Public Policy at the Hong Kong University of science and Technology Welcome to you all let me start with you are not what weve just seen there in his report how widespread is the lack of waste processing in india and one of the Biggest Challenges that the Government Faces in trying to addresses. India is one of the fastest urbanizing countries in the world just its urban population would be the worlds 3rd largest country by population so against this kind of massive push of people to the cities there is certainly a major challenge of managing solid waste. And most of the whizzed cities dont doesnt get processed so what that does is it has an impact on the local environment in terms of the landfill and the bethany and missions etc it also has an impact in terms of the last Economic Opportunity that they could get if we decided to use with does a resource rather than only something to throw it. Well im not sure what were seeing in india is a global problem so lets also take a look at some of the global figures now the World Bank Says around 278000000 tons of waste is recycled every year and recycling is now estimated to be a 200000000000. 00 industry now it was china that once led the Global Recycling trade but it said it banned waste imports just under 2 years ago because of the threat to the environment since then other countries such as malaysia thailand indonesia and turkey have been taking in that rubbish but then are concerned they could become dumping grounds for rich countries thailand is imposing a ban by 2021 and the malaysians also cracking down on garbage imports so with all that said professor chee in hong kong let me ask you about that chinese ban because they said it was about environmental reasons and how much of this is about the environment versus politics and economics. I dont know why people think it has to do with a politics at all if it is it is the great politics is a great it is a great politics to play. I think the reason that china decided to ban the this the garbage imported from other countries told me due to this it you borrow concerns. Every year if that by processing this waste much of that are sick and but waste and a lot of people get sick and that many of them are children also by processing the these waves and it takes a lot of energy and release is the amount of Greenhouse Gases that also get that counted as a contribution to china to the global Climate Change the so this is going to consider all these problems environmental problems the Climate Change the problems of Public Health problems i think the time is a government of 505 to be decided to do the right thing which is to ban is the garbage in the border from other countries well were hearing about the toxicity of all of this and sharon let me ask you a lot of the waste thats being shipped as a stand to be to be recycled tripe. But not all waste can be recycled but like a low grade plastics for instance copy recycled whats the proportion of way if it cant be recycled all disposed of faithfully. I think we just discovery now that what we thought was be recycled what we thought was recycled is is a lot less than we thought because what technically is a different question between the proportion that is able to be recycled and that that is actually able to be recycled because its not just about whether it can technically be recycled its whether it is and whether those facilities are in place so a lot of our package in the west is is technically recyclable but actually its very expensive to do that and the part of the problem is that weve been exporting poor quality waste exacerbating these problems that weve just been talking about and basically exporting our problem without dealing with it ourselves and so sharon you were telling me about this the poor waste thats being exported and because of that there is this developing political dynamic as well and i want to pay you a couple of sound bites from World Leaders whove been pushing back against that waste trade. We will declare war we will load the containers on a ship and tell canada that your garbage is on the way prepare a grand reception eat it if you want to. You know prudy seen too much we and you have a problem trying to get rid of the len fields in all that doesnt serve any purpose anymore you can a burn that we because of the smoke and all the pollution bulletins so you idiots corsi and pay for Research Countries to send their wishes to poor countries simply because the poor countries have no choice may be. A little to their economy so theres some pretty strong rhetoric that were hearing there both from president to say of the philippines and promised a lot to mohamed from malaysia and i are not but i want to ask here even though were hearing this strong rhetoric there is an economic incentive as Mahathir Mohamad that just acknowledged for this waste trade so why are we seeing this push back now. I think the pushback is happening for 2 reasons one is that as one of the other on this was also saying what is potentially recyclable does not always get recycled so the Economic Opportunity on paper might not always be converting in practice the 2nd reason is that you have to still establish a massive supply chain of ways segregation waste processing recycling then reusing in products which can then again be exported out unless that is dead. And you keep increasing the amount of ways that keeps coming in from other countries there is going to be like the pushback on top of all of that that is what i was saying earlier there is the internal pressures of increasing up in addition not just in a country like india but all of the emerging economy is whether or not for coal whether in asia which have to do with their own waste so i think it is important to understand that if we just limit this to its not my problem as noise and as long as i can just transfer it somewhere else that will not solve this either at a global level or even at a national or a city level within our countries we have to remove the factor from waste and begin the recycling the segregation the processing at home thats where the supply chain has to begin our number i want to ask you a follow up on not because if waste is processed differently its not just an Environmental Health issue but there are people who are on their livelihoods who feed themselves because of the money they way they they make from picking through trash and i believe in india its less than a percent of the population point one percent that still more than a 1000000 people so what happens to the people who are waste because and never off the waste what happens to them and their livelihoods if waste is processed differently. I think there have been actually a lot of initiatives even within india not country but in several cities where the same socalled rock pickers who are actually going through the garbage dumps with their bare hands are actually being retrained in to us as kind of the workers who would work in proper recycling segregation sorting facilities so why as soon as you think of this as an either or either you let them continue as they are leaving these nasty brutish and short lives or you do with segregation and recycling in a modern form that either are or will not obviously create the right political and economic incentives at the Community Level weve got to take the same communities either give them alternative to opportunities or retrain and rescale them and thats what is happening in cities in several cities across india of course this has to be scaled up this is what i meant earlier as well that we need to remove that effect we can only treat this as someone else is going to treat waste which means that i took Community Level we need to reestablish a social contract between the west processors the communities the residents and the state ones unless the social contract emerges this will always feel like someone else is literally dumping their rubbish on us so with things potentially changing a little bit in india let me ask you professor che about whats happening in china so china used to take Something Like 70 percent of the wild waste and now its dealing with its own waste 67000000. 00 tonnes of domestic trash every year whats it doing with the talking rubbish now if anything actually changing this since this ban wasnt post and 28 team. You know that does go back to the point it does raise the economic the case i think if there is a case for the export or trash from the rich countries because by exporting this a little heavy weights youve got to save a lot to process this waste. The developed game the poor countryside the canonical case and hard to be bathed of course you know we can talk about the lab a hood and i mean you just reminded me. Of here in holland 181 or 80 years ago there were all of the war all opium and you can say economic case for opium trade from the british. The. Companies to. About economic case it is just economically about morality so i think pretty much the same saying caves were talking about here with the waste and china is taking this waste issue very seriously and china has just released the the nafta regulation and the National Strategy to develop a socalled always a free society and star rating in it too does as of cities for pilot the cities for this Waste Management you probably can hear ready reason to be in cities like shanghai and beijing sorting this is a garbage level becoming a real big thing so starting with you know with the whole scope level and the personal level and the awareness of this Waste Management bid higher than ever and in every city and to deal of all the 1st. It is the process the ways and not just you know dumping and there are a lot below but also in the process to the deeper levels so i think beat it as you just mentioned china is also all developing the whole industry by the investing into ways to manage many waste of processing so that the. The you can also hear it for our own time in places and people are you know protesting against the waste of passivity its gear in china i think from the government the business and this is of both the Society Levels you can hear theres a really a big time paying Waste Management is devoted to real quickly i want to bring sharon in here because were hearing about potentially things changing in and china and india these developing countries but now that develops a country is struggling to find places to ship their rubbish what are they doing with it all sharon and what are their options. Well at the moment i think especially in the u. K. Were kind of relieved from the realisation that the destination that were where we thought our waste was going is that our waste just wasnt going where we thought it and were finding you know these shocking statistics about finding waste dump and dumped into the environment where people have been separating the waste and households and thinking the do the right thing so that has a negative impact on peoples behaviors so in the u. K. Weve kind of trying to deal with with tightening up the whole way supply chain and making sure that those 2 diligence in place to make sure that things are disposed of properly but were also looking at solutions on our own soil so right now waste to energy has become a big thing so a lot of our waste is more waste is going to incineration to produce electricity so the calories from things like plastic are being used in incentives so those things are not so easily recycled and those lower value plastics are going straight to incineration to produce electricity for the courses technologies such as. Digestion that produced by a gas to to reprocess waste food are also becoming popular in a rising in importance in the u. K. So on i mean i ask you there a little more about this idea of burning the waste because there are Health Concerns about that and in terms of the toxicity of the gases that come out the emissions that we see from it and i mean some argue greenpeace for one that its really just kicking the can down the road and that also basically building incinerators creates a market for Single Use Plastics which is surely goes against the whole point of it. Of course this is this is the counter arguments is a very valid point here that is they argument that the plastics are replacing fossil fuels but actually if those plastics were we used if those plastics were not a single use and if it is quite right that those days and center 8 is going to be looking for the calories so that we see can now waste with high calorie valley even high plastics so that that that is a problem and i mean an incentive to this one properly should be low in emissions and the argument is that oppose that feel this they are the scenario of having these plastics and a penny environment is down the road to Health Issues these things turned into more and more micro plastics and potentially end up in the food chain because the answer to this is just dont produce a much waste and the 1st place we are where in the u. K. That we just producing too much waste and hong kong i want to ask you i see youve been listening to sharon and i came to jump in there but what is china doing differently youve talked about different Waste Management systems and what can the rest of the world learn from what china is doing yeah thats going to say share with these that youre right the 10 ill say that this problem is the narration like a nation you know is on pays its way and its energy there is there are built. From time to time you can hear about the protests. Of the. India gave the here time to 2 so therefore at the 1st being to deal with the ways is to reduce the model ways to do a regime every day at all levels then you know from there we go from reduced to reuse to recycle and city and that is about 10 years ago that made it legislated of the circuit or. For the. The circuit or tommy. Is taking this very seriously as i mentioned the. Financing investment lending it businesses in this area is really booming so these becoming. Very industry for the circuit or economy i think a. Very very important to do got meant a lot of Industrial Parks are now. Redesigning and. Just putting together waste and Waste Management and by certain Certain Companies they know thats one day ill mention this the socalled of the year old ways to move mentored 0 basis strategies and into happening and other 2 dozens of cities and these cities are now doing the pilot if theyre trying to do the experiment theyre trying to come up with some good parent is in the policy a doc can be scaled up at the National Level so so that this year i think it just was starting this whole. Pain in dealing with the waste you are not i want to ask you as well just coming off what professor achieve is saying that this whole idea about 0 waste weve seen various different developing countries especially some in africa actually i believe now fast before african countries have banned plastic bags tanzania was the last one in may if the wilds poorest region can do that. Whats stopping the developed wild from doing the same. I think its directly linked to our lifestyles if we are not if we are not used to going to a shopping market shopping market and picking up a piece of fruit and putting it in a bag rather than wrapping in a plastic and then weighing it and then leaving we would just not know that there is an alternative way of going about this which is why i fully agree with professor true that its its not just reduce reuse and recycle i would add one more level to this which is reduce reuse recycle life cycle unless we see from where something is coming and where it will end up and how we predict it back to the source and keep reducing it several times over were even there even the recycling operations will fall short otherwise off the amount of waste well keep generating. The resource footprint of the United States for instance is. Not of india even with one 4th the number of people so if you dont change our lifestyles if you dont look at the life cycle of every product that you are using you are going to be in this problem. So we have to of course create an economic case for a circular economy and that the china is demonstrating it indias leading Government Agency from a that advises the government the mediocre has also proposed to build up a major push for circular economy but all of this comes after be change the lifestyles and in the 1st place and date and trying to find a political well 20 current people to do so huge challenges and its all about awareness i guess going ahead and watching the developing world actually take the lead for a change well thank you to all our guests are not Sharon George and professor kenya and hong kong and thank you for watching.
