Gov. Jim Justice talks about including beer, wine and liquor in the proposal to phase out the personal income tax in West Virginia during a virtual town hall meeting.
CHARLESTON — Beer, wine and alcoholic beverages will be added to the mix in the proposal to phase out the personal income tax in West Virginia, the governor said Tuesday.
Gov. Jim Justice was responding to a question from Joe in Scott Depot about also taxing the beverages during a virtual town hall meeting about the repeal of the personal income tax. Justice’s proposal to phase out and eventually repeal the tax includes increases in the tax on soft drinks and tobacco products.
