Alberta expat Morgan Murray finds success with debut novel, Dirty Birds

Morgan Murray’s first notable success as a writer came early.
It was 1990 or so and he was in Grade 2 in Rocky Mountain House. He submitted a short story to a writing contest that included entries from schools around the district. He took first place with an imaginative tale that had something to do with fleas helping cats outsmart dogs. The top prize may seem modest, but the seven-year-old fledgling writer was delighted.
