CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – The Albemarle School Board tonight will vote on Superintendent Matt Haas’ recommendation last week to begin Stage 4 of the Return to School COVID plan March 1. The big difference between this and the current Stage 3 is this will bring students at all grade levels to school a few days a week, as opposed to just pre-K through 3rd-grade.
In fact, Stage 4 brings pre-K through 3 to face-to-face classes 4 days a week — and grades 4-through-12 two days. 56% of students have selected face-to-face classes in Stage 4 which is just over 7600 students.
The school board meeting starts at 6:30, with Superintendent Haas’ recommendation expected around 8. Public comment is at 7.
