KUWAIT CITY, April 5: Former MP Badr Al-Dahoum filed an appeal at the Court of Cassation regarding the Constitutional Court’s decision to cancel his parliamentary membership despite the final verdict of the Court of Cassation which confirmed the legitimacy of his candidacy and victory in the 2020 National Assembly elections. Al-Dahoum disclosed he is hoping that the response to his appeal confirms the finality of verdicts issued by the Court of Cassation; hence, such verdicts should not be appealed by any other court or subject to other courts cancelling them or issuing a contradictory decision.

In another development, MP Marzouq Al-Khalifa called on National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim to resign; otherwise, the latter should be dismissed soon. He pointed out that the resignation of Al-Ghanim is the normal course of action which should be taken due to the recent violation of the Constitution and manipulation of voting on the request of HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid to suspend grilling motions filed and will be filed against him for almost one and a half year.
