Singer Teddy Kalanda Harrison, famed for his hit song
Hakuna Matata, is in need of medical help. Kalanda, who is one of the founding members of Them Mushrooms, is appealing to the public for help in raising funds to cater for corrective surgery on his leg.
Confined to a wheelchair since late 2017 and cautioned by his primary caregiver about the chance of him enduring loss of motion should the specialised treatment not be conducted, Kalanda explained that an examination revealed that three of his discs are damaged. “The doctor told me I would be paralysed from my waist to my legs after an x-ray showed that three of my discs had been damaged. I stayed in the hospital for about two months, but I still need to undergo surgery," said Kalanda.
