MANCHESTER — Raju “RJ” Gomes and his coalition of volunteers hope to serve hundreds of low-income and homeless people holiday meals on Christmas Day, but the effort will look very different than it has for the last 18 years because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The annual “Make a Christmas” dinner serves holiday meals to hundreds of low-income and homeless people in the region on Christmas Day.
The meal has traditionally been held at the Manchester Country Club. But restrictions stemming from the pandemic won’t allow for such a large gathering in a banquet hall this year. So Gomes and his team will be delivering warm meals to shelters across the region for distribution to the people they serve.
