Air New Zealand has been using its 787-9 to service long-haul routes.
She booked the flights hoping to reunite with family and hold a service for her mother.
“Part of me knew it was a bit of a gamble booking that far out.”
She said she felt as though the pandemic had been improving as vaccinations rates increased, and had her name down to be vaccinated, ideally before her planned trip.
She was considering flying an alternative route and may return to Canada for several months to spend time with her father.
