After years of sharp increases in drug overdoses in San Diego, something has changed. Will the trend reverse?

From 2018 to 2021, the number of fatal overdoses from drugs or alcohol more than doubled in the county, moving from 578 deaths to 1,300. Last year, the trend plateaued.
