ANN ARBOR, MI — Percy Bates was a professor of educational psychology at the University of Michigan for 52 years, teaching students, advising student-athletes and supporting them in their efforts, no matter how big or small.
Even since retiring in 2018, Bates, 88, still gets messages from students thanking him for his help, and it’s those messages that make him realize exactly what education is all about.
