Feb 22, 2021 — One of the main tourism centers in the Adirondacks is back open after shutting down for about a week due to a COVID exposure.
The Adirondack Loj and High Peaks Information Center near Lake Placid reopened on Monday.
The Loj, which hosts overnight backpackers, is back to its normal hours and limited capacity. The information center has limited hours from 7 am until 3 pm.
The Adirondack Mountain Club, which operates the facilities, announced the reopening on its Facebook page on Monday. It did not provide any details about the coronavirus exposure that led to the temporary closure.
