‘Labor of love’ restoration brings historic fighter plane back to Sikorsky in Stratford

STRATFORD — It took more than a dozen years along with a lot of generously donated parts to restore the Corsair fighter plane that used to adorn the entrance of Sikorsky Memorial Airport.
And, most importantly, countless hours of time given by volunteers past and present, Connecticut Air and Space Center President Mark Corvino said during an interview Tuesday.
