Abilene police arrest woman at park after hours on drug charges
An officer who contacted a woman in a public park after hours discovered a small amount of drugs in her vehicle, according to an Abilene police report.
The woman initially was contacted at the unidentified north-side park at about 3:55 a.m. Tuesday and told by the officer to leave the area. As she drove away, the officer received notification that she had a Jones County warrant for a charge of manufacture/delivery of cocaine, the report said.
The officer initiated a traffic stop of the 59-year-old woman at about North 10th Street and Mockingbird Lane. When the woman exited the vehicle at the officer's instruction, the officer saw a small plastic bag on the floor next to the driver's seat, the report said.
