For someone who has spent much of their 20-year career being heard but not seen, most recently as host of Radio National’s weekly
Art Show, Namila Benson is a supremely visual person.
“I’ve always been quite animated, especially when I get excited about things. Being Islander, you do more talking with your hands than you do with your mouth,” says the Melbourne-born Tolai woman from Rabaul in Papua New Guinea.
